Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach is a 678-bed hospital. All major medical and surgical services are available. The 24-hours emergency department (ED) includes the area's only Level II Trauma Center and the only Pediatric ED. It also features "fast-track" services for less critical injuries. Halifax Medical Center got 15 minutes of fame twice--the first time when it served as a location for the NASCAR movie "Days of Thunder"; the second came 10 years ago when Dale Earnhardt was pronounced dead there.
