One of the area's most picturesque Lighthouse is located in Lighthouse Park on the Eastern shore of Huron County between Port Hope and Port Austin. Lighthouse County Park features 110 campsites on 120 acres of land. It has modern and tent sites, as well as six rustic cabins with picnic area, pavilions and playground. The Pte. Aux Barques Lighthouse is located here. It is still a Great Lakes navigational point and a historical landmark. Open May 1 through October 15.

Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 02, 2019Lighthouse County Park is located right on the shore of Lake Huron near the tip of Michigan's thumb. It is 7 miles northwest of Port Hope and 12 miles east-southeast of Port Austin. The park is built around the Point Aux Barques lighthouse and museum, which is a great stop for lighthouse and history buffs
The campground is split into two sections divided by the camp office / bath house. The south section consists of 74 full hookup sites, many of which are rented for the season. The north section consists of 29 electric-only sites and another 5 rustic sites. The majority of sites are all grass, with a handful of the south sites having gravel pads. Average size of each site is from 25’ to 30’ wide and 50’ deep. We have seen large Class-A’s and 5’ers fit in the sites, but the sites are oriented 90-degrees to the park road and squeezing in can require some skill and patience. There are also 5 cabins for rent.
Amenities: Fire wood and ice for sale in the park. Bath house. Wi-Fi. Dump station with potable water. Boat launch. Fishing breakwater. Fish cleaning shed. No swimming beach.

Beautiful Campground with some very nice lake front spots (although not very private). Lighthouse within walking distance that you can do tours of and you can launch kayaks from dock. Location is a bit out in the middle of nowhere-some hiking nearby but we found a lot of the tourist attractions were too far away for even a day trip.

We spent a little over a week here in early October and loved every minute! Peaceful and beautiful; and Lake Huron views were awesome. We would gladly return at any time.

We visited this park in July and it's gorgeous there! Friendly host, inexpensive ice and firewood and sites. Wish we could have stayed longer there. Our site was all grass but fairly level and we had great views of the lake and lighthouse. We explored around the lighthouse a little but unfortunately the museum was closed while we were there. Had electric only, but used the showers - good facilities. Definitely would stay there again! We camped there with a 33 foot Airstream trailer.
