Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on March 17, 2023We spent the winter of 2020/21 here - yes we got to experience the "Historic Winter Invasion" of February 2021. Seriously, this is a great place to enjoy the mild winter and the sunshine. Lots of good fishing in the area. The beach is on the other side of the highway from the RV park but it's easily accessible.
This is a very nice place - the facilities are very good, the parking spots are all concrete and level and, depending on which spot you get, they are very roomy. Some of the interior spots are a little close but we noticed that they were typically one or two nights so probably people just passing through. The pools and the clubhouses are top notch. The wifi is very usable - sometimes it gets a little slow but for a park free wifi, it's good. The cable TV is basic Spectrum but still has a lot of channels. All in all, a very nice place - I gave it 4 on the noise since in the morning there are airplanes and construction and what not but that's always after 8:00 in the morning.
Probably the best thing about this place are the people. The staff and ownership are tops - very helpful even when there's a power outage and it's breaking records for cold temperatures. We had furnace problems and one of the guys made sure we had a space heater for the night. Residents are a mix of Winter Texans, a few longer term residents, families on vacation, etc. The kids all seem to enjoy the place and the older folks have quite a bit of interaction.
The town is a bit quirky but it's a beach town and has all that you need (and quite a bit you don't). Corpus is 25 minutes away and has everything.
Long winded review - we stayed longer than our original reservation and the staff was very accommodating. We hope to come back someday.

This RV Park's hospitality is off the charts. Kurt and another guy helped us turn our 43' rig around when we came in the night before way late and parked the wrong way in our pull through. Super helpful! They pick up garbage every morning. There is a small fishing pond and a really nice common area. Laundry was $2 a load which seemed steep but we are new to full time RVing so i could be wrong. The pool was perfectly heated and the jacuzzi awesome. The town itself is my favorite place, Tortugas and The Pheonix are a must try. 87 was on the end and we loved it, especially since our side patio was able to come down perfectly in all the space and we had a huge grass area for the dog. There are many frogs early morning and at night and the beach is not far. We will be back soon and for longer.

The park is beautiful, however, since it was sold in late 2021 the park has gone through 3 sets of managers. Prices have gone up substantially and they have begun to nickel and dime for the amenities (for example you are charged if you want to use the rec room). There is open hostility towards guests if they complain which will put you on the list to never be able to stay at the park again on the whim of the managers. The owners are just investors and the general managers are in Florida, so if you have any issues with the park - no one really cares. Also, you will not be able to drive a golf cart to the beach. Crossing 361 with a golf cart at this location could cost you a $500 fine. There are other great RV Parks in Port Aransas. Avoid this one.

This RV park is located about 1/2 mile from the beach and backs up to a wildlife preserve. Great to walk either direction. We stayed in the off-season, and there were plenty of empty sites.
Sites are large, flat, and well kept. Every site has full hookups and 50 amps available.
There are a list of rules that they ask you to sign, but I did not find any unusual except a restriction on putting carpet on the grass. We don't have such a carpet so no problem for us. They also require a surge protector on electrical connection. First time I have seen that. Staff was friendly and responsive.
Busy highway nearby but not enough noise to bother us.

We had such a great stay at Port A. The park is very clean. Everyone was very polite. Pools are heated. We used pool and hot tub daily. Several laundry rooms. Very nice clubhouses with book and movie exchanges, large kitchens with full size ovens we saw others use a few times. Great location. Some spots a little hard to get into for bigger rigs but they were very accommodating in moving our reservation to a spot we could fit better. Good internet and cable. We would stay here again without hesitation.
