We did not end up camping here- we decided to stay at our current spot over at Heart of the Hills, but we thought it would be helpful to share a National Park campground that gets Verizon cell coverage.

When you first come into Elwha, there are several shaded, forested spots that would work well for RV's. Driving further into the campground, there are a handful of back in sites with trees for privacy surrounding the sites, with some sun coming through.

This is a smaller campground, but arriving on a Friday afternoon, there were still plenty of RV sites to choose from. No hookups, with a potable water source.

Download speeds were 10.41 Mbps and upload speeds were 2 Mbps.

We went to check out this campground and the Ranger said the campground was flooded when the dam was removed and there are no plans to rebuild it. We ended up at Fairholme Campground which is a beautiful spot on Crescent Lake.

I stayed here twice in a months time and loved it. It is family ran and very accommodating. They even watched my dog. Close to Port Angeles for groceries. The restroom and laundry area was super clean. I was tent camping here but noticed the trailers were close together. The family got a volleyball game going and sang around a campfire. All in all a great experience and would recommend this to all ages. When back in the area I will definitely stay here again. I camped by myself the first time and with my family the next. Cell service wasn’t very good and the WiFi never worked. I was here in May 2016.

Massive flood not only rerouted the Elwah River to the other side of the campground and took out the road, but it took out the campground as well. The only sign of a campground even being there was a single site number sign and a small gazebo. The road is closed about a mile prior to where it used to be.

I’m not sure where the previous reviewer stayed but this place is most certainly closed as of September 5, 2018, since it was destroyed by flooding and a gate near the Madison Falls entrance prevents vehicles from going any further. There is plenty of parking here but camping is prohibited. Hikers can proceed beyond the gate though, which is what I did to visually confirm the campgrounds non existence.

However, construction workers are actively working to rebuild. I’m which case, it would be worth a return trip since there are many hiking trails within walking distance.
