“Olympic NPS Campground”
A pretty and well-treed camp with easy highway access, this camp is set on the Elwha River about one mile from Lake Mills. Fishing is good in season; check regulations. The elevation is 450 feet. Altaire also makes for a nice layover spot before taking the ferry at Port Angeles to Victoria, British Columbia.
There are 30 sites for tents or RVs up to 21 feet long. Picnic tables and fire grills are provided. Restrooms with flush toilets, drinking water, and garbage bins are available. Some facilities are wheelchair accessible. Leashed pets are permitted.
Reservations are not accepted. Sites are $12 per night, plus a $15 national park entrance fee per vehicle. Open late May–October.
