My only complaint would be that there was only one bath house. It was clean and nice, but only one.

WE found this east Texas park to be quiet, peaceful and very beautiful. I did not see any sites that I would call bad. Our site was pretty flat and easy to walk. The bath house was very clean. WE will return to this stunning park! I have posted videos on my YouTube and they can be found under the "blogs" tab.

I stayed in this park on my trip east. Beautiful, east Texas forest on Lake Bob Sandlin. I arrived in the early afternoon, parked in a spot with a view of the lake and put in the water. Winston, my corgi and I enjoyed kayaking all afternoon. We then went back, ate dinner, went for an easy hike and had a clean showerhouse to myself. The park is well spaced with several campgrounds and awesome staff. I will definitely be back with my fishing pole. I saw docks, ramp and a playground.

We had planned on staying for a week and then life happened and we had to cut our trip short. Site 13 was amazing. It has its own little private beach on the lake. The pad was level, though not sure it could have accommodated anything larger than our 41ft Mesa. Can’t vouch for weekend traffic but while we were there, it was quiet. We hiked the lake cove trail and it was perfect. Like I said, can’t wait to come back and spend more time .

Generally Tx State Parks are well designed and this park is no exception. Great sites. Nice bathrooms . Pretty lake . Decent hiking . Free fishing from shore or pier. Good spacing between sites with concrete pads.

Although the booking app let’s you pick a site for certain size, it’s not accurate. We booked for a 30’ trailer (we are 28). The site was so small that we had to park on the edge / ledge.
There were many other campers around us that seemed to have similar issues.
It’s dangerous when your stairs cannot reach the ground. Also they said 30 amp only, but ours was 30/50z

Nice place, typical of East TX state parks. Lots of pine trees. Some sites with lake view/access. Good area for biking on camp roads.

We stayed a week in early December at #15 in the Fort Sherman loop. Nicely angled back-in sites with concrete pads. Reservation website says driveway length is 44 ft and our site was JUST long enough for our 27 ft TT and Ford F-150 TV. The site is surrounded by fairly mature oak, sweetgum and hickory trees, with an occasional pine. There was still some fall color when we arrived but continuous heavy leaf fall had most trees bare by the time we left. The sites are nicely separated, so that with summer foliage we would not have been able to see either of the adjoining sites. It was very quiet and peaceful while we were there, with only a half-dozen of the 33 spots occupied at any one time. Those on the lake side of our loop are able to hear traffic sounds from the causeway that crosses the lake when outdoors. Bathrooms, that serve both camping loops, are clean and the showers work well. There is a dump station designated for totes near the bathrooms. There is a Dollar General store about 4 miles from the park entrance. Otherwise, Pittsburg and Winfield are about 8 miles away.
