Friendly and helpful staff, but check-in takes forever. If you don't want a copy taken of your credit card you need to tell them. Don't bother making reservation online. You'll get a confirmation that it was received, but ours was never processed on site. Thankfully I called and took 20 minutes to get a reservation.
Well maintained aphalt and gravel park. Good size dog park with some shade. Looks like they have nice amenities but we didn't use any. Very quiet at all hours, and nice and dark at night. No highway noise.
No WiFi offered. Close to the little, very nice, town of Anthem with shopping and a couple eateries. Stunning views all around.
Sites are very snug with neighbor, but the pull-throughs are very long.

The check in for a two night stay was impossibly invasive. They needed pictures of our dogs, year and make of our camper and tow vehicle. Both of our driver licenses credit cards, license plate numbers, cell phones, addresses and a release to charge our credit card for “rent” electricity and incidentals with out stating the nightly fee. We just wanted to stay TWO NIGHTS,.

We have been full-time RV'ers for 5 years and have stayed several winter seasons at Pioneer. The location is great for North Phoenix, and has direct access to the desert. Our first opinion of the park was that it was quite and clean but for some reason the office staff was quite rude. We are a young 55 and thought maybe they just didn't like us? We soon learned that the office staff is rude to the general population and the General Manager, Chip, is unbelievably horrible-and always 'out of the office'.
The only reason we returned after our first experience was the location is close to the grandkids, otherwise we would not have returned. The office rudeness has continued to escalate and now we feel discrimination is rampant within the park office and community. If you value civil and human rights, or maybe just prefer a smile when doing business, pick another location, you will be glad you did.

We stayed here for just two nights, and it is pretty clear that this is a campground with LOTS (a hefty majority) of folks who stay here for long stretches. Lots of little mobile homes with rigs parked by them. I suspect there are snowbirds & full-timers. Not so many short termers like us.
We were given Spot #2, right by the exit and really, even outside of the main gate. A LONG way from the amenties…so much so that you really wouldn't want to walk to the clubhouse.
It's an expensive place, and does seem to have nice amenities, including bocci ball, pickleball, pool, clubhouse, etc. For such a big "fancy" place, it's funny that you can't reserve online and when I called to reserve, they didn't even give me a confirmation # or email. "Us talking right now is your confirmation." And then, when we checked in, it was a painfully slow process, whereby they wrote down everything SLOWLY by hand. Wrote down all my credit card info, and then just ran the card. So I left the front desk with not a great feeling.
All hook-ups worked. That was good. I used my Verizon hot spot and because we were on the edge of Phoenix, we certainly had a good signal.
The plain gravel sites are VERY close to each other. I barely had room to hook up without walking onto my neighbor's outdoor dining area. My wife and I had a good laugh about how close we were.
It's a clean, tidy and "secure" (if your spot is inside their gate) location. But it really wasn't for us. We felt like 2nd class citizens. Won't stay here again.

The most wonderful people (55 plus) stay at this, the best campground for the price, in Phoenix! This place is on the desert surrounded by tall cacti and Palo Verde trees. It is Picturesque. Yes there are a lot of residents and they are awesome. There are also a lot of people and RVs coming and going creating a great mix of folks from everywhere. They have rules that solve a lot of the problems you find in other parks.
We were greeted and helped upon arrival and led to our spot. They do require newer RVs or pictures of slightly older ones. There is the distant faint sound of a shooting range. But, I consider that 2nd Amendment applause! They have a great pool and hot tub, washing, pickle ball, etc. and great walking trails. There are two places for dogs to run free.

1st time staying at an over 55 RV resort. The residents had lots with some cement pads and landscaping etc. short stayers stayed in gravel rows close together near the entrance road. We had full hook ups and even Gita name badge to use facilities. We enjoyed the large pool indoor for laps and work out room. Even used the tv room to watch cable hockey game. Only 20-25 mins to Phoenix northern suburbs so nice to be in a quiet location with surrounding mountains.
Staff was nice and the bathroom and showers were remodeled nicely. Would stay again for short stays.

We got a last minute space before the office closed. Super nice staff, clean tidy park. People were friendly. Dog park was clean and a decent size. Plus there’s more then one. Dumpsters throughout. We’d stay here again. Didn’t see the showers or restrooms but I’d assume they’re also well kept. Good price at $46.00

Stopped for 1 night, if we like a place and if possible,we extend our stay. Not here.
Cons- Had to fill out an application online before we got there with information and pics of our dogs to make sure they were not aggressive breeds. If we were approved, they would send an email. There aren't many choices in the area and we were visiting friends, otherwise we would have skipped this park. When we arrived, I went to the office to check in where I had to show my driver's license and a credit card. But, wait there's more!
The office person said I'll hold on to your card and license til your husband brings his in. When he went in the lady says I need to see your vehicle registration, proof of insurance and trailer registration and insurance. We've never been treated in this manner ever. We were issued badges that you must wear if you go to any of the common areas. You will incur another charge if you don't return them. Yup, we forgot in our haste.
Pros-the campground is very clean. The dog run is very large and nice though,I only used it once because the "non-aggressive" dogs would lunge at my dogs through the fence. I walked them instead.
The laundry room is large with lots of machines and they have clothes lines for you to use if you wish. You need to download an app to use the machines and put a minimum of $25.00. A very sweet gentleman I had met earlier, let me use his account. He stated he would never use the whole amount while he was staying there, and I reimbursed him.
I can't review the rest of the park since I had a sour taste in my mouth for the place.
Had cell service using Verizon
Key take aways- any dog can be aggressive if not properly trained and campgrounds need to wake up to this.

I needed a place close to my dog's vet and this was it.
Their reservation application is so intrusive, invasive, after 5 years on the road I have NEVER seen anything like it. I was filling it out until I got to the end where they state if they didn't like it they would reject you. In other words, you could be just wasting your time waiting to hear back from them.
They require photos of your trailer from ALL sides? are you serious?. Photos of your dogs? and proof of all vaccinations, if you don't know what a Black Lab is, a photo may not help. Proof of Insurance, registration, license No. age, size, make, model number AND floor layout on all vehicles. etc., etc.
I'm surprised they didn't ask for a bank account or police report.
I will drive the 7 miles from another MUCH more REASONABLE park.
I'm shocked at some positive reviews.
