Great base camp for exploring the area but it is remote from any city. There was a small Store/Restraunt in Honeydew and a small Store in Petrolia. Spaces are comfortably apart and easy to back into but no bushes or trees in between and are mostly level. Big meadow in the middle, Road borders River on one side of the park. Real nice couple on site to manage. Nice clean Showers, Bathrooms. Water available but no dump. No Cel. Drive in from HY 1/101 is very challenging but doable.

We didn’t stay here, but it did look nice. The showers and restrooms were closed for the season and they still expected us to pay $25 a night. The cell service was non-existent and we need it for work so we kept moving.

This is a fantastic park/campground on the Mattole river. The sites are huge, the park is clean, there are flush toilets and showers, and there is a huge lawn area to play in. The downside? - The roads leading to it are some of the worst in the state. Steep, curvy, and very rough with uneven pavement and potholes. You'd think with all the large marijuana farms in the area there would be money to fix the roads, but I guess not. We drove in from 101 through Humbolt Redwoods state park. We thought that road was bad until we took a day trip north to Ferndale and that road was even worse.
