Grandpa Shorter’s Gift

Located in downtown Petoskey in the heart of the historic Gaslight District, on the corner of Lake & Petoskey Streets. Grandpa Shorter’s Gifts, founded in 1946, has been serving the Petoskey community and its visitors for over 65 years, and through three generations of the Shorter family. We are proud to continue the tradition of carrying Minnetonka Moccasins, Petoskey Stones, and Native American Quill Boxes, like we’ve done since 1946. We also carry Lynn Haney Santas, from Lubbock, Texas, and Brian Kidwell Flying Machines, also from Texas. For the kids, Grandpa Shorter’s Gifts carries a wide variety of toys from Toysmith, EeBoo, Alexx, and Schylling Classic Toys. We also carry books published by Workman Publishing and Hartcourt, as well as books published by Sleeping Bear Press. We also have Brain Quest, the trivia games that help you and your kids learn about the little things in life. We also carry furnishings and accessories for both home and cottage. Look at our large assortment of local lake and nautical products for those who have a favorite lake, be it Walloon Lake, Crooked Lake, Pickerel Lake, Mullett Lake, Burt Lake, Lake Charlevoix, Lake Michigan, Douglas Lake, or Torch Lake. Check out our relief maps, clocks, coasters, and other items that show off the lake you love. Check out a variety of food products that are all made in Michigan.
