This little blm area is pretty awesome and secluded. Keep going down the rough washboared road and you will start to see areas to park after going over the cattle guard.

Its not bad. It has spectacular views, is awesomely quiet, but on a sunny day with dry trails there will be ohv there. OHV users have a right to the national lands as much as anyone, just be aware, that's what this is. The trails are in really good condition for an OHV park. I road my mountain bike on them and they were toughest xc trails I've ever been on. The people on trail were friendly, if not bewildered by a cyclist, but there was evidence of gravel bikers on the smoother roads.
It is a very rough road getting there. If you aren't looking for an OHV park or challenging cycling and would rather have a plethora of neighbors while camping try the resivoir that you'll pass getting here.

We got here on a Wednesday and stayed until Friday afternoon. The road was a little bumpy for our first time, but we saw plenty of RVs and trailers, so it was not too bad. There were a few people in and out during the day (mainly OHV) and very quiet at night. We had a gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains and would definitely stay here again.

We have a large Fifth Wheel and I was able to get into this site but there are three main pull-outs next to the OHV trails where you can camp. It was a challenge finding a level spot and if you are not there for trail riding it's not exactly a nice place to camp. It's dusty and the last mile into the camp is rough. Others mentioned trash everywhere but it looked clean to me. Just not a place I would do without an ATV.

The road up to this place is pretty rough. The last mile is very washed out leaving sharp rocks and big ruts. I'd recommend scoping it out before bringing a big rig up there. Also there were a number of abandoned buses and some shady folks when we were there. Probably safe but definitely one of the lower quality BLM areas.
Stayed 7 nights total. First three in large fenced parking area past the entrance lot, and the last 4 down in the entrance lot near the pit toilet. Road is rough going in and even rougher as you head up. We crawled up at 5mph to get to the second lot. Once we were there however, we forgot about that and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Deer would come right by the parking/camping area each night to graze and the view of the valley and the mountains beyond was gorgeous. It is a designated OHV area, and though we had many day neighbors come in and take off on bikes and 4 wheelers, it was never invasive or obnoxious. Had a bit of a tough time finding a level spot but I was able to get us almost plumb with the leveling blocks. Great spot to boondock.
P.S. The last night we were there there was a huge rainstorm and the next day some county guys were out with a grader and smoothed down the entrance road quite a bit, so it wont be so bad for a little while.

So, it’s free, so I can’t complain too much. But it doesn’t have much going for it. Mostly quiet during the week except for a few folks that looked like they lived out of their cars (and not in a good way).
The road in isn’t too bad, but was a bit bumpy. I parked right past the entrance on the left. It was the most level site I could find. The sites are big, but leveling is an issue.
It’s great for an overnight, but I wouldn’t want to spent much time out there.

Stayed here 2 nights and it was very quiet. There’s lots of trails in the area (OHV) but other than that, not much else to do. There is a clean vault toilet at the entrance, no trash services. Plenty of spots as you keep driving up the hill. It’s very Rocky but if you take it slow, shouldn’t have any issues. I didn’t in my van. Definitely some people living there full time but as a solo female, no concerns or issues during my stay! Definitely would stay again. Had great ATT service.

If it wasn’t for the busy weekends and the four wheelers I would have given this place five stars for sure! It is quite opposite during the week as literally nobody goes up there. We were alone for about four days straight without seeing anyone else. It was amazing. I’ve stayed there twice and it was the same both times with the privacy. The spot I was in is at the top of the hill where it flattens out. As soon as it flattens out you look to your left and there is a large fire pit back about 30 yards. It is very secluded in this one single spot. You are surrounded by trees and landscape on three sides! There are other spots on the way up to this one which I did stay in one of them but none has the room or the flatness like this one. I have a German Shepherd to consider so we always need a large space to play in front of us without cactus hopefully. For that reason, this spot is one of my all-time favorites so far. The road getting up here is quite bad and probably one of the worst roads I’ve had to drive on yet with my 21’ travel trailer. We had to do two or 3 miles an hour all the way up but it is doable and once you get up it flattens out and is quite beautiful. There is a “staging area“ at the top where it flattens out (across from my favorite spot) or you can camp there because it is probably 3/4 the size of a football field. Aside from the occasional dirtbike or four wheeler this is one of the quietest and darkest at night places I have been. I absolutely love this spot.
It is also only 15 minutes or so from town and is extremely convenient.
