May 3rd, 2021: RVer report confirms multiple reports from Mar 2020 & earlier, & ino provided by MS DOT. Overnight RV Parking is allowed with a maximum stay of 8 hours. This is a change in policy by the state, which previously stated that Overnight RV Parking was not allowed. MS DOT website states that camping is prohibited on public highways or adjacent lands; that long term parking (for more than an 8-your continuous period) at highway rest areas is not allowed; and that vehicles parked for more than 8 hours may be removed either by MDOT or the Mississippi Highway Patrol. Staff here has told RVers that it's allowed with a maximum stay of 24 hours. Center normally open 8-5, with complimentary refreshments. Wi-Fi (may not reach parking areas), picnic tables and grills, telephones, dump station, restrooms, weather information. Well lighted with 24 hour security. Directions

I-10, Exit 2, then S on SR 607, take 1st R into welcome center. Go ~ 0.3 mi, then keep R to Auto Parking area; RVs that will fit in a single auto parking space may park here. Longer rigs may keep L to truck parking spaces, or may go thru Auto Area; ~ .02 mi past end of auto area there are ~ 12 'turnout' parking spaces, all parallel to roadway & long enough for most if not all RVs.
