Built in the High Victorian Italianate style in 1868, the two-story Sam Bell Maxey House was the family residence of Sam Bell Maxey, a Mexican War veteran, Confederate general and two-term U.S. senator. Tours are given on the hour starting at 9 a.m., with the last tour starting at 3 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
