Confirmed by 9 users | Last reported on August 30, 2023We almost didn't stay here because of how un-level the campsite at Cabin Hollow is. We were able to get level with 5 blocks, but that means we need to keep the pet ramp out for our dog so he can get in the trailer. If you have a rig longer than 27 feet, don't bother coming here (it was borderline do-able for us).
The spot we ended up in is partially shaded, but fortunately we have a portable solar panel and just had to move it every few hours.
This spot is beautiful, isolated and close to Bryce Canyon National Park.

Beautiful site not far from road. Spent day at Bryce and then stayed here. Nice site except that in am hubby backed into a deep rut and we got stuck! Had to jack up the back wheel and put rocks under it to get out. Thankfully it worked. Just be cautious if you stay here and I would not camp here in the rain. No cell service either. But great view of the stars!

The main camping area is a small loop that's not very level. However, we used the combination of a rut in the road and our anderson leveling blocks to get perfectly level. The scenery is fantastic, tons of pine trees and some hoodoos around. AT&T was fast and reliable. Verizon was fast as well, but sometimes dropped. Overall, a great site. Close to Bryce Canyon, not too far off the paved road but private.

We actually discovered this location on the reco of a local ATV rental place and scouted it first in our toad - a Mini Cooper. The entrance road from the main road is unpaved but totally driveable (watch for a few low hanging trees) until you get to the camping area. Incredible views of rocks/voodoos tempted us... But the ruts in the road were deep - Could we do it in our 36' class A gas motorhome? We decided we would at least try. Next day we arrived with the coach and Marc drove VERY slowly, me being the spotter. We got into the shaded, bottom part of the loop - the most level part - and managed to get level using our blocks propping up the driver side front/rear wheels. Success! We had an amazing time the next 5 days, perfect weather - though it did get chilly at night and early am - low 40s in early Sept. The site gets 3bars unboosted of Verizon 4g LTE. Score! Two miles down the road Red Canyon Campground has zero cell coverage, but it's a great place to dump your tanks for $5 on the way out. Some days we saw free range cows nearby. You are half a mile from the main road and barely hear the traffic. This was our favorite boondocking experience so far. Beautiful, scenic, private, close to Bryce Canyon (15 mins) great bike path close by. The only reason I deducted a star is the access can be really tricky and the road is uneven with huge ruts so be careful. Check the weather and if rain is forecast, I'd avoid this just to be safe. We had 2-3 vehicles come by during the week obviously wanting to camp there but they left: unless you know each other well and plan to arrive/leave same day, I'd say there is only room for one rig, maybe a couple of smaller ones and only if you're traveling together. There were 3-4 firepits in the loop but no firewood to be found in the area and we just used our propane firepit anyway. What more can I say... It was tricky getting in and out but worth it. And honestly our 36' coach - while we did it successfully - is really pushing the limits! Be sure to scout it out first before taking an RV up as the road conditions may change with rain, additional use. But if you manage to get in like we did, you will love it! If this just seems to stressful or risky to navigate, drive a couple miles further up Scenic Byway 12 where there's a larger, more easily accessible and level place to boondock and can accommodate rigs of any size. A popular place for ATVers to park and ride from their site. The views aren't like Cabin Hollow but at least you won't have to worry about the access or damaging your rig and there are plenty of sites.

We camped here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it! The view from the campground was amazing. There's a paved bike trail that goes through Red Canyon so it was an ideal location to bike. Also it was only about 10 minutes from Bryce Canyon NP! There were some ruts coming in so it could be sketchy if you have a small car, but it was pretty easy for us to pull our Airstream Basecamp up there with an FJ Cruiser.
Also added bonus- we had great LTE from the campsite (T-Mobile).

Arrived Christmas Eve. Campsite to ourselves. Redwood campground closed in winter. Would recommend chains if snow as does get a bit slushy through the mud. Park up, find or build a fire pit for winter. Hoodoos and open woodland. Heaven.

So tried to get a site in Bryce but no success. Thought I’d give the good old app a try. Worked great. There are numerous campsites the deeper ya go. Great cell service and the road is in good shape. Super quiet and may just stay here instead of heading to the park.
Sites are slopes but found level ground for the tent. Love this place but could see getting out in the wet rainy weather to be a challenge. Part of the journey. Cheers

Not the best for spring camping as the ground is still wet and muddy. Some places weren’t as accessible due to snow too. Great spot other than that though because it is located in the gorgeous Red Canyon and only 30 minutes away from Bryce Canyon.

We planned to stay at Tom’s Best Campsite just East of this location, but it was slightly more crowded than we had hoped. So we drove our rented camper van to Cabin Hollow and found a great, secluded, very quiet camp spot with fire pit a few miles down the road. It’s a bumpy ride but we were just fine and the designated area we found was nice and level. Easy 25 min drive to Bryce Canyon!

It is secluded but an easy in and out. The road is good and the spaces are spread out. It does get windy in the afternoon but it always calmed down at dusk. We would stay again for sure. Only 30 from Bryce.
