Convenient RV park in the middle of Lake Mead Park, easy access, big rig friendly, full hook up.
We used it 2 nights for replenishing water tanks and laundry day.
Good base camp to explore the North shore of what’s left of lake Mead.

We stayed here for a week while visiting Valley of Fire State Park, which is a 25-minute drive from the campground. Since the campground is located in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, you will need to pass a fee station to get there: the fee station between the town of Overton and the campground wasn't operational during our stay in March, but they were collecting fees / checking national park passes at the Las Vegas entrance. The campground entrance will be on your left as you drive in, but you'll need to drive past it to reach the office building. The office building, which also contains a convenience store, has a large parking lot (no issues turning around even the largest rigs) and a gas station (they don't sell diesel; you'll need to go to Overton for that).

The campground is a loop of back-in sites with a row of back-to-back back-in sites in the middle. The roads are asphalt and the site surfaces are gravel. Each site has a picnic table and has thick wooden posts on the left and right sides of the site. Fortunately most sites are fairly wide so the posts don't present a problem when backing in. A number of sites have adjacent trees but not the kind that provide much shade or block satellite signal (at least not in March). The outer sites in the loop are more desirable because you usually have some kind of view of the surrounding mountains. On the flipside, you want to avoid staying in sites 44 and 45 as they are adjacent to the trash and recycling dumpsters. We stayed in site 4, which was a blind-side back in with a nice view of the mountains to the south through our back window. We had to do some leveling front-to-back and side-to-side, but nothing dramatic.

There is a bathhouse building in the inner row of sites secured by keycode. The men's bathroom was clean and had several shower stalls, including a handicap-accessible one. There is also a small coin-operated laundry room in the corner with 3 washers and 3 dryers. A small communal firepit area sits next to site 47; no one used it while we were there. Behind the campground on the north end, accessible by a gravel road between sites, is an open dirt and gravel area which is home to the recreation center building (also secured by keycode), a small playground set, a horseshoe pit, and two basketball courts on opposite ends of the building. This open area is probably the best place for walking dogs; there aren't a lot of places around the campground that aren't rocky.

In terms of cell service, the best bandwidth I saw on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna showed 9 Mbps down and 2.5 up. I was able to work remotely and stream most of the time, but occasionally the signal would stutter or drop out for a minute, and uploading photos took forever. Contrary to what I read in other reviews, the AT&T signal was mostly non-existent on both our 5G smartphones, not even with our WeBoost cell signal booster.

The campground does offer WiFi through TengoInternet, and at check-in campground staff gave us two coupon codes to pay for the service (each good for single device for a week) and instructions for connecting, but I didn't go through the bother of creating an account to test the bandwidth.

The remote location and the lack of overhead lighting in the campground does make for good stargazing when the moon isn't out.

We'd stay here again for a quick stop.

As you drive in you will see the upper campground with a free dump station with potable water. Next you'll see the rv park with full hookups on your left. Finally and just before you get to the office and gas pumps you'll see the lower campground to your right. The road is a beautiful paved road all way from Overton to Echo Bay.

Plan to load up on provisions, because the store doesn't have much and as you might expect.. everything is expensive (i.e. 87 octane fuel was $3/gal). Also, there is no propane refill for your rig.

At this time of year most of the park is empty. Rates are very reasonable and the staff are very friendly and relaxed (28/nt, 170/wk, 480/mo). They don't escort, but I didn't have any trouble backing in my rig because the road and sites are quite wide.

Caution: watch your small dogs... the coyotes are not afraid to wander close and I heard sad stories for the other residence. For me, I thought Millie was excited about the largest jack rabbit I had ever seen a few moments ago, but it ended up being a coyote watching us from behind a bush about 75 - 100 feet away. Thank goodness I had her on a leash; which doesn't happen too often in these underpopulated areas.

Cellular service is good, but spotty. I was able to surf and watch tv on my MIFI fine. No over the air tv signal. Radio come in/out of signal as you drive around. They have free wifi, but I didn't use it.

This is an older little park in need of some TLC, but still has its charms. It was quiet, close to Valley of Fire, the historic town of St. Thomas, Echo Bay boat ramp, lots of hikes and off-roading. Other campers & the camp host were veryfriendly & welcoming. Most of the sites had some shade. Wifi was not working during our stay (they were waiting on a part for repairs). We have an unlimited plan and a cell signal booster that increased our service to 3-4 bars. The women's side of the bathroom/shower facility definitely needs repair/remodeling, but it was clean. Unfortunately, my shower was only luke warm for the 1st ten minutes until the hot water finally kicked in. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

We wanted to camp at Valley of Fire but couldn't get a spot so we decided to check out Echo Bay since we've never been there. We drove through the other campgrounds and those are cheaper but didn't have hookups. We decided the view wasn't particularly exciting we'd rather watch a movie so we chose the RV park in order to get electricity for our movie night. The park wasn't anything special except that it had recycling, which I've noticed a lot of RV parks do not have. That was a change of pace for us since we are often bringing all our recyclables back home with us when we camp. The negative about this place is that the electricity, fresh water, and sewer are all on one post! It's kind of gross to think about how nasty that fresh water might get. And it's a little worrisome to put the water so near the electricity. But other than that everything was fine. We had a pleasant night.

This was an older / run down area but the park itself was clean. There was a bathhouse and laundry facility as well as a super old playground. Not much to do close by but Vegas was a little over an hr away. We fit perfectly fine with a 42ft 5th wheel and they got us in last minute, which was great.

Unfortunately the lake close by was not in good condition so there was not much to do there either.

This is an older campground, and most of the sites are uneven, that being said we enjoy our stays here. The lady at check is very nice, check in desk is down the hill a little past the entrance to the RV park entrance. Late check in is easy if you have reservations already. Camp host met us at the entrance to the park. We leveled out pretty easy this time, we parked near the front of this site and just added the extra dump hose to reach, the back end of this site dropped off several inches from the front. It was very quiet and sparsely populated this time. The last time we were here there were several snowbirds waiting for the weather to get better up north. This area is prone to be windy so awnings are not advisable, if you do use it make sure to pull it in if you leave the campground. There is a vintage playground the kids enjoyed, slide, seesaw, and jungle gym. Lots of places to take a walk. The bathrooms are clean and everything works. The drive in and out of here is pure southwest beautiful. It is a 30 minute drive to Overton if you need groceries or a hardware store. Every site is roomy enough and has a picnic table. T-Mobile was only usable for phone calls, Verizon was used for data. Wi-Fi is available.

As everyone says, it is an older RV park, but very clean and spacious. It is reasonably priced for full hook up, and the people could not be friendlier! The bathrooms are spacious and extremely clean. The reason we stayed at this park was we attempted to find a first come first serve at Valley of the fire State Park. Unless you stand in line at 8 AM, you will not get a spot at this park. the people are very rude and will tell you that there are probably spots in the RV park, but are uncertain. You were charged $15 to go down and find out there are no spots and they will not give you your money back. Not only that, they will not help you other than to say there is BLM land back down the road. we found this RV park on Google and was glad we stayed here. When you call for reservations, you will get a very kind lady by the name of April who is more than willing to help you.
