“largest man-made reservoir”
Welcome to the Arizona side of the largest man-made reservoir in America - spectacular Lake Mead. Here you'll find world-class bass fishing, long southwestern summers and endless smooth waters for skiing, boarding and swimming. The Temple Bar Marina is conveniently located off AZ Highway 93 in northwestern Arizona - about 5 hours from Phoenix and about an hour from Las Vegas. Visitors accessing the lake from Temple Bar enjoy easy access to hundreds of coves and beaches along Mead's vast shoreline.
To get to Mt Wilson wilderness turn off 93 on Temple Bar Rd heading towards Lake Mead. At 10.6 miles look for a small, unpaved road off Temple Bar rd. It is on the left, towards the mountains. From the turn it's three miles to the wilderness boundary. The road is unpaved and a high clearance four wheel drive vehicle is recommended. The reward, a high mountain wilderness overlooking Las Vegas.
