Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on April 20, 2024Roughly a 10-minute drive from Valley of Fire, this slice of BLM paradise puts you atop a bluff with expansive views of Lake Mead and beach access that, depending on your site of choice, is anything from a quick walk out your front door to a goat-like descent down a crumbly cliffside. The lake here is clean and sites plentiful. The Verizon LTE faucet floweth. Kayakers, canoers and paddleboarders will find fun coves and inlets to explore, and maybe catch smallish fish (we haven't found the big ones). If you have a boat requiring a ramp, there's one rough campsite where you can back her down, but it looks problematic in the rain, or if someone happens to be camped there already.
What's lacking is quick access to resources like trash, water and groceries. Overton is about 25 minutes away. I might be missing something, but the nearest water and trash appear to be at Valley of Fire State Park, which comes with a $10 daily admittance fee. There's also the requisite trash, mostly in the form of broken beer bottles stashed beachside.
But with plenty of space, lakeview sites and Verizon data galore, this is definitely a new go-to.

If you're looking for lakeside camping on Lake Mead without the crowds Stewarts Point it THE place to be. Lots of easily accessible spots here ranging from easy parking near the main road to isolated spots way down the bumpy dirt road. We happily bumped our way to a spot right on the edge of a bluff overlooking the water and settled in for a week of incredible views and silent nights.
There is not boat ramp here, but if you have kayaks (and a high clearance vehicle) you can easily get down to the shore to put them in. Compared to other parts of the lake there is little boat traffic here which makes it perfect for a peaceful paddle.
For hiking, head over to the nearby Valley of Fire State Park. Here you will find red rocks galore plus a dump station if you need it.
The cell service we've reported is with a booster, but even without it was quite speedy.

Some pretty amazing spots spread out all over this place along the lake. Lots and lots of options. Great LTE in most. The lake is sadly so low though that where I camped was not even on the map. Still really close to Valley of Fire and Overton for groceries etc. Or 40 minutes to Henderson for Walmart, REI, and of course In-N-Out burger.

Came here to get out of Vegas for the New Year and avoid the fireworks for the pup. This place is close to the water, FREE and quiet. Site was mostly level, lots of soft dirt/clay and also rock areas. No one should have an issue getting to the location or setting up a level site. Highly recommend the location.

WOW! This area is amazing. Pretty easy access (bumpy gravel/hard pack) - but you've got to hold out until you find the spot that you absolutely want. There is certainly enough room for it.
The camping here is dispersed camping (on unincorporated land within the national recreation area) - and is a completely unique and wonderful way to experience the lake.
You must pay the fee at the gate, but an annual national parks pass will get you in as well.
The wind was a bit strong, but it was welcomed to ward off the heat (90+). A fire was tricky, but with enough kindling you will be fine.
I'm not sure what to tell you other than you'd be missing out if you didn't stay here while in this area.

Basically this is reservoir camping with nice views. The landscape is the remains of Lake Mead's better days which left it rough and mostly barren. Not many private sites, but there is decent camp spacing in some areas (probably less so nearer the water). Was very quiet every night . Easy access for all sizes.

Lots of wide open sites along Lake Mead. If you have a national park pass, then there is no charge. Otherwise, you'll have to pay an entrance fee.
Part of the road is paved then it turns into gravel grated. If you stay on the main grated roads, there should not be an issue for any size rig. There are some softer sandy spots off the main roads. If you want to camp close to the water, I would recommend scouting it out first.
There is a very clean pit toilet just as you enter the camping area. On the main road is a Palm Oasis with a trash dumpster. Down the road at Red Stone is a large recycling bin.
Valley of the Fire State park is only about 7 miles. There is a $10 entrance fee and well worth it for a day of hiking. Down at the marina and state park, towards Red Stone, is a very small store with gas, firewood and ice.
No water or dump here so come prepared.
We had a great time hiking and biking. Next time we'll bring a kayak.

This was our first time to visit Stewarts Point so we didn't know what to expect. We already knew that the road was gravel and slightly bumpy. As you get closer to the sites the road becomes very narrow. We wondered how 2 big rigs could pass each other if they were going the opposite direction. Thankfully we didn't run into that challenge. We have a 30ft A Class and towed a Prius. Once we got past the pit toilets we unloaded our Prius and drove it around to find a spot that our rig could get to and for a good cell signal. We found a great spot over looking the water. The trail to our spot was slightly slanted so it made us a little nervous driving our rig to the site. We made it fine, but we just took it slow. It was a small price to pay for such a great spot with a great view of the water. Once we were settled we were able to do a little bit of work on our computers. Nothing like working remotely with a view. The signal was a decent 3 bars on LTE. It wasn't so good in other areas that we were scouting.
Our site was a little hidden so you can't see where the road that leads to, so we had a few people driving through our site. This didn't bother us because nobody stayed. Some would get out of their vehicles to take pictures. We did some exploring on foot and saw a few hares (our dog was very interested in them) and we went down to the water. We did see some people swimming so we decided to check it out. The ground was extremely muddy and squishy. Water felt good, but not a great place to go wading. It is very close to Valley of Fire for some hiking and close to Overton where we were able to get some wood.
We will definitely return if the weather permits. It will be very hot here in the summer.

Just a few minutes from Valley of Fire, this site just a short distance from the very plastic Las Vegas Strip might as well be a million miles away. There's a ton of space for rigs of any size, and while we had neighbors during our midweek October visit none was even remotely close to another.
As the sites are below Lake Mead's high water line (which hasn't been seen in many years), the soil is dusty and chalky, interspersed by clumps of tamarisk. We arrived right as night was falling and after trying to squeeze into a spot nearer the shoreline and failing to get the rig level, we put our tail between our legs and retreated in total darkness to a broad flat spot a couple of hundred yards from the water's edge. Had we a bit more daylight, we might have spotted a site midway to the water that would've worked, but I was reluctant to move the following morning.
Valley of Fire is a very worthwhile nearby destination for fascinating hiking and wildlife, and if you really want to deal with the Vegas Strip it's less than an hour away.
Our Verizon service was 3 bars of very usable 4G unboosted.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Very easy access and close to the water for paddling. The dirt is hard packed and wasn't very dusty at all. Great views. Close to Valley of Fire. The only downside is there is some broken glass and trash. You can dump trash and recycle at the nearby springs north of the site. Echo Bay upper campground has fresh water and a dump station. Great LTE.
