Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on September 11, 2023We made the mistake of waiting to book a campsite for Memeorial Day weekend. So there is only one site available and that was for a good reason. Our campsite we VERY small. We have a 29 ft. Travel trailer. Eventhough camp reservation site said we would fit it was VERY tight.
Bathrooms and showers were clean, warm water, decent water pressure. After about 6 hours after they cleaned you would get dead bugs around sink area. Pretty common for some campgrounds. So if you timed out your shower to be within 6 hrs of when they were clean - you were fine.
Location was great with very nice beach across the street (3 min car ride). Location was bad because virtually no cellphone service (Verizon). Often ti.es not even 3G. Texting was even shoddy.

As always, Michigan state parks are very nice and woodsy. Don’t stay here in mid-Summer though as only have up to 30 Amp. Perfect place for late September. Decent ATT coverage

Very nice and well maintained park. Campground has 185 sites in two separate loops (east and west) The first 10 sites have water hook up and 30 amp elec. The rest have 30 amp electrical only. the west loop has two cabins that are on a mini loop with about 10 other sites. the sites seem smaller than most state park campgrounds with paved pads but many have the fire pit on a hill or slant. East loop has its own bath house with the majority of the sites in the open. west loop is mostly wooded with its own bath house. Beach area is across the road but never went over to see it.

The usual Michigan SP experience which means electric only BUT I now see that sites 1-10 have water and electric. How moderne! Sites were on the small side with back-ins perpendicular to narrow road.
Verizon showed a single bar, but we couldn't get Internet, texting, or voice calls using phones, Verizon jetpack (without antenna, with flat antenna, or with WeBoost) so you'll definitely be off the grid if you're a Verizon customer.

We had a good time, nothing but nice people, nice groomed trails, fire pit. Our asphalt is lifting because of tree roots, no issue. Still very level. Very sunny campground besides a few sites, but dense forest all around. Good cell service, T-Mobile home* internet dropped a couple times, we had Verizon jetpack as backup that worked also with no speed issues.
Firewood here was garbage and quick burning. We and many others were using it.. but maybe plan better and grab from a stand down the road?
Great access to water, beach, or boat ramp with clean bathrooms. Planning our next stay for sure.
If you're new to state parks, or electric only, suggest bringing a way to add water like 2 6 gallon water cans. After 3 days we just broke down our setup and dumped and refilled.. but we only need some water which was 4 sites away if we had a can to grab it and dump it into our fresh water tank.
