“along the shore of the Okanogan River”
Welcome to the Carl Precht Memorial RV Park which is located in the City owned Eastside Park nestled next to the Okanogan River in the midst of many Catalpa trees that provide great shade. The Eastside Park is a spacious seventy seven acres and hosts many activities and is also home to the Omak Stampede and World Famous Suicide Race. The RV Park has been expanded twice with our most recent improvement being a shower and restroom facility. We now have more than 68 spaces for recreational vehicles. There is also a limited area available for tent camping. While staying in our RV Park, you can take advantage of many activities. If you want to stay close to home, walkers and runners can take advantage of our half mile paved circular walking trail. We also have horseshoe pits, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball and soccer fields, playground equipment and a skate park. In mid June, our public swimming pool is open and is very refreshing during the hot summer months as is a float on the Okanogan River.

We visit Omak for business on a weekly basis, year round. We have frequented all of the local RV parks, as well as many primitive camp sites in the surrounding forests. We enjoy staying at the East Side Park in the winter months for a few reasons: The price goes down, and the park is very quiet. On many of our winter nights we were the only people in the campground.
Other highlights:
- The park is only a few blocks off of US Route 97. Access is very easy, even for bigger motorhomes and trailers. That being said, the noise from the highway is not unbearable.
- Cell and mobile data service is excellent. The park has wifi but we've never used it because we use our 4G data plan.
- There's an off-leash, fenced dog park adjacent to the campground. Our dogs LOVE it.
- Year round electric and sewer. Water is seasonal. Bathroom/showers are seasonal.
- The RV park is pretty well maintained by the City of Omak. Workers always seem very friendly.
- Tents are allowed and there are several designated tent spots. In fact, sometimes we pay the "tent rate" of $10 if we don't hook up our trailer. I'm not sure if that's within the rules but they've never said anything to us about it.
Negatives:
During the spring-autumn months the park gets much more "active". During the nicer weather there is a lot of activity on the surrounding sports and recreation fields. There's also a lot of people "hanging out" within the park. Technically the park is closed after dusk but this doesn't stop locals from wondering around in the park. We've never had any problems with safety or harassment of any kind. The park is also somewhat patrolled by the local police. During certain times of year I would stay away altogether: The "World Famous Omak Stampede and Suicide Race" takes place about 100 feet from the campground. Stay away during that week. Also, on 4th of July, the park becomes of free-for-all for fireworks of all kinds. It's pretty cool to watch but I wouldn't want to be camping there that night.

Can‘t beat the previous review from 2015, but it sounds about right. We stayed in February and there were only two other spots taken. Booking online was quick and easy. We did not use any hookups or facilities, but enjoyed the grounds to walk our dogs. This time of the year the park was pretty much empty.

Nice and shady campground but sites are a little close so there is little privacy. Showers definitely need some work, it was very dark and dingy in there. It also seems like the agricultural workers take over the mens bathroom in the evening. Clothes and towels strewn all about the place. There was even a violent verbal altercation between an Ag worker and a camper while I was in the shower. Lots of yelling and cursing and one even threw a trash can at the other. It was a little frightening but thankfully it was over and they had dispersed by the time I was done. Ag workers also washing off in the spigots at empty campsites. It would rly be a great spot if it weren’t for the free loaders.

Expensive, $44 for a 25 RV. Bird poop on the picnic tables. Garbage overflowing. Restrooms and shower building locked up. Sign says “maintenance problems, sorry”.

Very expensive for no facilities. No showers or toilets but a portapotty! Grass needs to be cut but worst of all the music started blaring from the grandstand speakers at 6:40am! Would be much better off at the Casino.
