This is one of the few free sites I’ve found that doesn’t require you to drive 10 miles deep into a forest without cell phone service. There’s a good number of sites, they vary is size and are a bit close together, but they’re easy to find and I showed up in the afternoon on a Saturday and there were probably 10 or so spots out of about 20 open. It’s very scenic and loud with nature noises at night.

An amazing, quiet and secluded spot! The lake could be seen at our site and the view was phenomenal! Site are accessible via a long dirt road (trust your GPS! You're going the right way!). We arrived at night and it was still very easy to find. We only stayed one night, but you are allowed a max of 14 consecutive days within a 30 day period. Each site had a picnic table, fire pit, and a trash can. Not too sure what pet policy is in place, but leashes are always your best bet as we spotted multiple gators in the water! They were curious and did come closer to the shore line while we sat at the picnic table with our two dogs! Would definitely stay again, and recommend you to as well!

Nice spot on a lake, but nothing special. Quiet. Picnic tables, fire rings, and garbages at sites. Seems geared toward tent camping, but I found a spot for my 23 foot rig.
Pretty buggy
1.5 miles on a maintained dirt road

There are so much bug here, everywhere you turn you’ll be attacked by some type of fly, net, or mosquito. I could not leave my camper door open for cool air due to the heat, because so many flies were attaching themselves to my car and my in laws. At night it was much better, not as much bugs. Cool location if you want to stop by and stay for a night . Great for fishing and gator viewing . It is a clean place you have trash cans to throw away trash, and a pit can to create a fire. The bathroom is close walk wherever you are located, clean as well. Signal here as well

This place is not able to fit big rigs. We are in a 35’ fifth wheel and do not fit into any of the sites. I would think anything bigger than 25’ is to big. And there is only a site or two that can fit a camper at all. Lots of spots for tents, vans or B class. We stayed in the boat trailer parking for the night.

Rood creek offers beautiful views, however, the sites are on the smaller side. This campground seemed more aimed towards tent camping. There were only 2 or 3 spots I could fit my 25' TT. The sites were well maintained with picnic tables, garbages, and fire pits. Eufaula, Alabama is about 25 minutes from Rood Creek and offers any amenities you might need. I highly recommend visiting Providence Canyon State Park for a unique and breathtaking hike through Georgia's "Little Grand Canyon."

I would like to go here again but it’s a toss up if someone’s goin run a generator all night for ac or a fridge and ruin the night for any tent campers near by. But it is free so….gators are also not scared cause there are lots of little kids tuning around feeding the gators so don’t let your kid or dog by the water or they could get jumped.

Easy to find and most Campsites were empty. Each site has table, trashcan, lantern hook and fire ring. It is at end of a dirt road but it was smooth and hard packed. The roads in campground and boat launch are all paved once you get there. No space for big rigs, vans and small trailers are fine. My T-mobile had one bar of 4g data, so very slow. Best part was watching alligators cruising up and down the bayou. There is a 2-3 ft steel sea wall along the campsite shore so it is not easy for the gators to get into camp.
