“Celebrate African American culture”
Celebrate African American culture and art by viewing contemporary work by local artists at the Oklahoma Black Museum & Performing Arts Center. Established in 2008, the museum rotates exhibits roughly every month and features different mediums of art including photography, painting, sculpture and more. There is always something new and exciting on display, but the museum is also home to permanent collections by Earl Davis and Tariq Shabazz, both Oklahomans. The art is predominately by and about African Americans, however the museum celebrates diversity as well as African American heritage during several events throughout the year that are both educational and fun. Stop in to see a wide array of art and unique exhibits that are around for only a month at a time. The Oklahoma Black Museum & Performing Arts Center is a friendly and welcoming place of artistic expression and community for the Oklahoma City area.
