“Home of the Oakland Raiders and Athletics”

The first crowd filled the O.co Coliseum on September 18, 1966 when the AFL’s Oakland Raiders played the Kansas City Chiefs. The adjacent arena celebrated its grand opening on November 9, 1966 when the Oakland Seals met the San Diego Gulls for an NHL game.

In the following 32 years, the Oakland Alameda County Arena and Coliseum Complex has hosted a spectrum of events in both the sporting and entertainment industries including concerts, circus, boxing, rodeos, religious speakers and ice shows. Audiences numbering nearly 100 million have made O.co Coliseum and Oracle Arena the premier entertainment facilities in Northern California.

In October 1995, O.co Coliseum began an extensive renovation. The $120 million project included the addition of 22,000 new seats, 90 luxury suites, two private clubs and two state-of-the-art scoreboards.

Oracle Arena followed suit in June 1996 with a $100 million renovation. This project involved the complete demolition and concurrent redesign of the building’s interior. Capacity was increased by more than 4,000 to a maximum of 19,200 occupancy, plus 72 luxury suites and three exclusive clubs were added.

The newly renovated O.co Coliseum and Oracle Arena sit on 132 acres with an ample 10,000 on-site parking spaces.

This place is an absolute dump. Probably the most dilapidated stadium in professional sports. However, both the Raiders and A's have some of the most unique and enthusiastic fans who totally embrace their place as underdogs. The games at O. co Coliseum are also way cheaper then those across the bay in San Francisco, and tickets are always available including for the playoffs.

This stadium was nice! We purchased bleacher seats and they were over-crowded so we got moved into an overflow suite. Great visit!
