“Nestled along the Missouri River”
Nestled along the Missouri River in Chamberlain and Oacoma, SD, Al's Oasis has historically been the premier resting stop for travelers along Interstate 90 (I-90). Here at Al's Oasis we offer bus tour groups, vacationing families, tourists, and lone travelers more than just great food, lodging and shopping. We offer them an escape from their travels. We still have our delicious 5¢ coffee, which always comes with a free smile. Al's Oasis, still a family run business, prides itself on making a fun, convenient, and relaxing stop for you and your family.
Al's is a fun little stop. It's not amazing by any means, but the gift shop has some cute items and the restaurant isn't terrible. Their famous Lemon cream cheese pie could use about an inch less of whipped topping and an inch more of lemon cream cheese. All in all, this is just a solid place to pull off the road for awhile.
Mostly over-priced Midwestern mom clothes. The gas station next door has more to offer. The bathrooms are acceptable. They have a little grocery store so if you need groceries it's nice. It's right off of I90. The place just reeks of potpourri so it set my allergies off so bad I couldn't even stop for pie and coffee. Honestly unless you need groceries or if you have to pee, skip it.
A stop and break on the road. Don't expect to be amazed.
Nice place to stretch your legs if you e been driving awhile. There's a restaurant, store, supermarket, and buffalo out front for a photo op.
Perfect place for a quick lunch while driving! Great prices, great quality, and fast service.
We stopped here just to take a quick break and ended up spending over an hour. It’s just a fun place to walk around and look at all the touristy items. The grocery store was incredibly helpful and the staff were so nice and friendly.
Run of the mill tourist trap. Don't recommend.
We didn't eat as it was 9:30AM, the gift shop is cute & the people super nice, it just wasn't anything more than a Cracker Barrel type atmosphere -- maybe the food is amazing, but if I'd stopped here with kids I'd have been disappointed. They do have a grocery store if you need that!
Went after dinner in town for the famous pie. But they were sold out of apple pie. Sweet waiter told us the cook had been baking like mad but three tour buses pulled up and wiped out their supply. We stopped in the next morning and got the apple pie with cinnamon ice cream. Very tasty -- lived up to the billing. The attached grocery store had good fresh produce to resupply our cooler, too.
Okay. I thought it was going to have a little more to offer, but at least the restrooms were clean. Now I can say I've been there! 😄
