Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on August 12, 2020This is a very grassy park like setting on the Salmon River. Really nice bathrooms and showers. The spots on the river don't have sewer hookups due to environmental restrictions according to management.

Can't say enough good things about Wagonhammer...our stay here was one of the very best RVing experiences we've had. The park is in a perfect location right on the Salmon River. The surrounding grounds are well manicured, the restrooms are not only clean they're actually beautifully appointed, plenty of area for strolling or dog-walking, and happy hour every night! Wifi was VERY good! We were warmly greeted by owners Abner and Shirley, who provided information on things to see and do in the area, and made us feel welcome the entire length of our stay. We were in one of the full hookup sites which are a little tight but we've had much worse elsewhere. The water & electric sites right on the river are fantastic. The drive down the river road to Shoup (and beyond) was an enjoyable way to spend a day and to spot lots of wildlife. We also enjoyed a scenic drive north over the pass to Hamilton, Montana. Don't miss the Huckleberry-Peach Pie at the Broken Arrow restaurant just a few miles north of Wagonhammer. It's no wonder so many folks spend weeks at a time at this wonderful RV park...it really is a little piece of Heaven right on the Salmon River in North Fork, Idaho.

I made steelhead camp here for 3 nights. The owners were very friendly. The grounds were very clean. My only complaint is that the water quality is very bad. There is a lot of rusty red sediment and extremely hard water. Use a very good pre-filter before you connect to your camper. Otherwise, this is a great place to camp.

Upon arrival we received an enthusiastic greeting welcoming us to Wagonhammer Campground. We had reserved 5 nights over Memorial Day weekend but when we saw the beautiful grounds and spacious sites we extended our stay for a full week.
Richard guided us to our site and made sure to point out the bald eagle nest just across the river. We have been watching to see if the young eagle would fledge- while one parent watches from the nest and the other stands guard from a nearby tree top.
The lodge has a nice gift shop with a selection of camping & fishing supplies along with clothing and other necessary items. Speaking of necessary items, the lodge does sell beer & wine at very reasonable prices. The attached laundry room has four washers and three dryers all in good operating condition.
This is not a location with a lot of activities on site. All the guests are busy hiking, fishing and rafting. The Wagonhammer trail head is 1/4 mile up Hwy 93 and offers trails for hiking and mountain bike riding. The scenery is to-die-for and worth the effort to climb up the valley. Be ready for 500’ elevation increase over the first 2 miles.
We really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and other guests during our stay. We will definitely return.

Mt wife and I stayed here nearing the end of a 26 day trip. We traveled from Phoenix to Seattle and back. This had to be in one of my favorite stops. We slept with the rap door open on the Toy Hauler and listened to the river all night.

Camp site right on the Salmon River. Very peaceful. Very friendly staff with guidance to campsite. Easy to get into. Clean dump. Water and electric sites as well as full hookups, tent sites, and tepee sites. Definitly would stay here again.

Maybe we got the wrong site and should have opted for riverfront. This RV park did not wow us like others have written. Site 11 was sandwiched between two rigs, which were very close. We had very little privacy and couldn't wait to leave. We made a stop here between Sun Valley, ID and Glacier National Park.
Staff was nice and river was pretty.

After seeing fantastic reviews online for this campground we were really excited about it. Nothing like we expected. We went quite a few miles out of the way to stay here for 2 nights. Ended up only staying for 1 night. Not well maintained, sites crammed together, very worn out looking. Pictures look like water is easy to access but it is not. The people running it were nice but seemed very tired.

So close to a five star campground if it were not for the swarming mosquitoes anywhere in the shade. Grounds were well taken care of, owners so very nice and helpful, showers and restrooms spotless and free, great little laundry room, and cute gift shop. Lots of boat launches up and down river for kayaking. Very peaceful. One down side was the lack of nice swimming area in the campground. Spots were side by side so little in the way of privacy but really long and plenty of room for our trailer and truck. Wi-Fi was weak but worked. No cell service for Verizon. Nearest town with groceries etc. is in Salmon so stock up before you go.

We stayed here in August 2020 and loved it. We were right on the river bank. So beautiful and the drive in and out was gorgeous. The only down side was the cell service (Verizon) was non-existent and wifi was slow. But you're camping so forget the phone for a day and enjoy God's creation!
