The Middle Fork American River is one of the three main branches of the American River in Northern California. The river flows from its headwaters in the Sierra Nevada, in a generally southwest direction, to join the North Fork American River near Auburn.
The views were absolutely stunning
Challenging run and probably not the best choice for beginners (South Fork better suited to that). There are a few stretches for Class 1-2 Rapids, but the Class 4-4+ require keen attention to the guide's directions to prevent washing out of the raft.
Tunnel Chute is steep drop that our guide said is probably closer to a Class 5 than a Class 4. After that, though, the rest of the run seems like cake.
