Correction to map location: I am currently in elephant Butte Lake State Park near the southern landing near the city of elephant Butte, and a little further south is truth or consequences. This particular point on the map is too far north to be part of the elephant butte lake state park.

The largest and most popular lake in New Mexico, Elephant Butte Lake State Park provides a setting for every imaginable water sport. The visitor center offers regional interpretive exhibits. The mild climate of the area makes this park a popular year-round destination.
