Cliff Walk Cottage on The Sea

Cliff Walk Cottage on The Sea is the only bed and breakfast in Newport, Rhode Island located directly on the famed Cliff Walk, affording unobstructed, sweeping ocean views across Easton’s Bay, and, as the locals call it, “First Beach.” On a clear day, from its upper level, you can see Gay Head (Martha’s Vineyard) and the Cliff Walk all the way up to the Breakers, the Vanderbilt mansion. The house was originally built at the end of the Gilded Age in 1929 and totally remodeled in 2006 based on the McKim, Mead, and White design esthetic exemplified by many of the wonderful and historic mansions constructed in Newport at the turn of the twentieth century. The Cottage, both interiorly and exteriorly, has been designed to a high level of period authenticity, and great effort has gone into capturing and framing the ever-changing dramatic oceanfront location it commands.
