Confirmed by 6 users | Last reported on November 15, 2023Down a 1 mile dirt road you will find this great little spot in the woods. No electricity. Water available at different spots throughout the campground. Vault toilets and trash cans also available. Host on site who is very friendly. Water view from our site on 7 but I believe 9 has the best view although it is smaller. Recently cut down the growth between the sites and the water for a better view but still left plenty between sites for privacy.

This was a cool little dry camping place, a mile down a pretty bumpy dirt road. 15 spots, so not huge and if you have a big rig, you'll want to check campsite lengths carefully as some spots are smaller than others. There's a hiking trail right next to the campground, and a kayak/canoe launch spot (although it was too windy for going out when I was there). Definitely worth the road in to get to such a beautiful spot.
Vault toilets, no shower, no dump station. Water available at 2-3 spots within the campground. Decent solar but trees do affect the panels.

I really enjoyed my time here. You can fill your fresh tank with water and after that you’re on your own. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. If you have a rod and a kayak, you are set. We went hiking on one of the nature trails and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

The Oyster Point Campground has several vault toilets, potable water, trash receptacles, and is affordable. This Croatan National Forest campground is RV friendly, but it is dry camping and primitive camping only. A campground host was onsite. There is no dump station. Verizon cellular service clocked in at 107.0 Mbps download speed and 9.92 Mbps upload speed. AT&T cellular service clocked in at 53.0 Mbps download speed and 9.68 Mbps upload speed. Our video tour and campsite review of the Oyster Point Campground is uploaded here on Campendium for your immediate reference.

This was a wonderful place to stay! We spent 7 nights and really enjoyed it. Both ATT and Verizon were amazing for remote working. The only downside I would say was the 1-mile road in. It's got massive amounts of deep potholes that will pretty much swallow your truck. :) But take it slow and since it's not very far, it's totally doable. They do have pit toilet bathrooms here, but we didn't use them, and due to covid, there are some porta-pottys set up. We have our own facilities so we didn't check those out. Also, trash is available here. The camp hosts are very nice and keep things very clean. We felt very safe leaving our RV for the day to run errands. For solar, I would say site #7 was the best, but you still have quite a bit of shade from trees depending on the season you're here. There is also fresh water available here for filling your tanks if need be.

Nice sites and all clean. All sites quiet and large. It's supposed to have lots of first come, first served, but it's not. Only site #6 is not reserved only. The campsite does not go by the information posted by the National park service, but does it's own thing instead. The road in is very rough with deep and wide potholes. Any rig without good clearance is likely to be damaged. The only rigs I saw were vans, truck campers and tent campers. Go slow and any of those will do fine.

We were a little hesitant to drive our van down here after some of the reviews of the road but we were pleasantly surprised when we started driving the road! They must have just added new gravel because the road was great! No potholes at all! The sites are nice and relatively private. We also had a nice little path down to the river. Definitely would stay here again.

As another stated, the road has been grated and graveled and is very nice.
We were concerned from reading a review and from what the camp host said about the bugs. Thinking she meant the type you could see. Like the size of a fly. Nope, these were super tiny and they were everywhere!!
Hundreds of them coming in through our screen windows.
She said as long as it’s windy, they don’t come out, and she was right about that!
We had reservations for five nights and left early after two nights. They were that bad inside out RV, and can’t imagine what it was like outside.
Quiet little campground, with many empty sights during the week. Close to Morehead City and the ocean, but would not stay here again, only due to the bugs.
