USS Nightmare

The USS Nightmare is a haunted house attraction built upon an actual steam-powered dredge boat located in Greater Cincinnati on the banks of the Ohio River in Newport Kentucky. The USS Nightmare is the resurrection of the William S. Mitchell. The boat is in the exact condition it was left in the aftermath of the Mitchell Massacre. To this very day, anyone who enters is tormented by the sinister past of this former dredging vessel—including the cast and crew of our haunted dredge boat tour. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the boat and experience more than 40 scenes—most of which are historical interpretations of actual rooms and events. The USS Nightmare exposes the life of the legendary Captain Mitchell, his bizarre family, and his dedicated crewmembers who haunt the historic steamboat dredge and delight in exposing their mysterious behaviors and oddities to all who enter.
