I always enjoy the Float In! this place allows access to the river and this place has a huge lawn for sunbathing. I was able to take my 7 yr old and watch her enjoy the climbing structures there that looked like animals. They also had bubbles set up and a sand box. You are able to relax in the river without floating down. I saw lots of people that did do the float and said it was awesome!!!! We ate at their also. They have a huge menu and perfect for after I had a frozen sangria. If you are in the Hill country and have time to play in New Braunfels I highly recommend the Float In. The address is 462 E Mill right on the Comal river
