Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on May 17, 2021I’ve camped here 3 times and have enjoyed each time, it’s a beautiful lake for kayaking. Many sites have lake views. I have a small travel trailer and they have a good amount of sites for both rvs/trailers and some awesome lakeside tent sites. Can’t fit too big of a rig here, ideal for below 30 feet. But there are some larger sites that could fit a 30 plus rv. My site was very unlevel but nothing that couldn’t be leveled out.

We found out about Scotts Flat when a neighbor needed to off-load their booking. To our luck we found that the campsite we secured is perhaps the best in the entire place. It backed right up to the lake, just a 1 minute walk from the water's edge. Views from our van and the picnic table looked right out onto the gorgeous lake. The sites are nice and big giving ample privacy. This particular site (232) felt larger than the ones nearby.
Be sure to pack your water toys. Kayaks are very popular as are fishing rods. We paddle boarded on smooth water. Be sure to paddle up stream and into the river that feeds this reservoir. It's beautiful up the river and there are nice spots to pull up your board/kayak, hike a bit and picnic in the sun. Very private up the river.
I took a morning run along the fire road and single track trails. Really nice for runners, hikers and mountain bikers. This areas is popular amongst mountain bikers and if we return I will pack a bike.
This campground is well run by friendly staff. They offer firewood, clean potable water, clean bathrooms, hot showers (1 quarter per minute) and a general store. The store was closed, likely due to COVID.

This will be our go-to family campground for years to come! It was a perfect lake for the paddle boards and there is a great little beach for the kids.
We went mid week and the campground was not crowded at all. The sites that are single digit and low teens are either on the water or have a lake view with a short walk to the water. There is absolutely no cell reception, which I found to be a major plus.
The campground was clean and quiet, and the facilities were well-maintained. Oh, and definitely don’t follow Apple Maps to the lake. It will take you through tiny residential streets. Take Highway 20 all the way up to Scott’s Flat Rd.

We stayed in the double site (223-224) and it was the only site in the entire campground with any privacy. The price reflects 2 nights plus reservation fees of $10 each site. They also charge a whopping $17 per vehicle after the 2nd vehicle. There is a lot to like about the lake but the campsites (two campground loops, gate 1 and gate 2) are mostly very close together, somewhat like an RV park, with no privacy. The double site is fairly close to the water but this was after a wet winter and I don't know if the lake level gets lower in the summer. There was constant traffic going by our site, luckily the road is paved. Some of the other sites in the 200s are right on the water, but those sites are close together. There was noise from the nearby group sites. Our double site had room for 3 truck campers and 4 tents, all somewhat unlevel, but workable. Two large picnic tables, one fire pit, one grill. Dusty, and lots of rocks and stumps to trip on. The bathrooms were old but worked OK. Shower rooms had no separation of bench from shower, 1 quarter per minute, decent flow and temp. All in all this was fine for the birthday we were celebrating and the kids had a great time in the water. However, it's generally not our style of camping. No cell service with US Cellular but someone with Verizon had a little coverage.
