Stayed here a year ago on our trip from Chicago to Colorado. Pulled in late afternoon and easily found a first come first serve spot. The horses are so beautiful, Scouts Rest Ranch was interesting and fun. Campsites were very well maintained, easy to back into. We hiked along the N. Platte in the morning and had a beautiful walk along the horse trails. I absolutely recommend this campground and adventure.
Buffalo Bill State Historic Park features the home of the legendary Wild West showman known as Buffalo Bill. Buffalo Bill's Victorian house (built in 1886) and 25-acre ranch are located at the Historical Park. The Park is located next to the Buffalo Bill State Recreation Area and offers camping along the Platte River, as well as outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing.
Quiet and nice campground. In October very few campers.
We enjoyed looking at the ranch and the artifacts in the barn. The house was closed due to COVID. We liked seeing the bison. We found a bird's nest on the grounds. It was nice to walk around and stretch. Down the road is a Dude Ranch got horse backing riding. My children lived that part especially!
