“55-acre garden & art museum”
The history and origin of Cheekwood are intimately interwoven with the growth of Nashville, the Maxwell House coffee brand and the Cheeks, one of the city's early entrepreneurial families. Cheekwood is a 55-acre botanical garden and art museum located on the historic Cheekwood estate.MissionCheekwood’s Mission is to preserve Cheekwood as an historical landmark where beauty and excellence in art and horticulture stimulate the mind and nurture the spirit.
Children will love the garden-scale train exhibition that is made solely from items found in nature. Before you head in swing by the Visitor Services building to pick up a Backpack Adventure that provides interactive activities the kids can do as they explore the property.
Should've come a week or two earlier. A lot of flowers have withered by now. But still the garden is beautiful and the sound of the wind and bird chirping is pleasant to enjoy.
a great place to spend an afternoon with the family or some friends... beautiful grounds and some really interesting art
I went in March 2021. Things are starting to bloom, but you can still see the tree forms which to me were stunning. So many different trees and plants! My favorite was the Japanese Garden as the Cherry trees were in bloom. The mansion with art gallery was nice. We paid $25 for both garden and mansion. Next time I’ll do the gardens only, hopefully when more things are in bloom.
One of the most stunning gardens I've been to. Not too large but had a lot of work going on while there. Looking forward to coming back once all the work is done.
Went here for the Christmas Festival of Lights and it was a great time. The kids enjoyed the lights, they had a bar set up where you could get a beer for the adults.
This place was really beautiful. I always tour the botanical gardens of any city I visit. I was a little shocked at the price: $20 to enter and $5 to park. It's definitely worth it, but maybe more expensive than some other gardens I've been to. But, I'm sure all that lawn and garden maintenance is expensive! A small price to pay for inspiration and dreamy reflection while you walk around.
