“Largest house museum in TN”
Belmont Mansion is the largest house museum in Tennessee and one of the few nineteenth century homes whose history revolves around the life of a woman: Adelicia Hayes Franklin Acklen Cheatham. Listed as one of Nashville’s top twenty tourist attractions, Belmont Mansion attracts visitors from all over the country, as well as from countries such as Canada and the United Kingdom. Its meticulous restoration and unique role in the history of Nashville and the South draw visitors eager to hear its story. Restoration and operation of the Mansion is completely administered by the nonprofit Belmont Mansion Association and is funded by admissions, membership, fundraising events, private and corporate donations, and venue rental services.
Beautiful house. Tour is short and sweet, mostly college age students. Tickets are $12, so if you're into historic homes, it's worth the price. Lots of original and period accurate artifacts. Check it out if you have an extra hour in Nashville!
We toured this house with our five young children. Our guide was beyond amazing. It was just our family in the tour group and so our tour guide really geared the information and pace of the tour for the kids. She was happy to answer any of their questions and moved things along when our babies (10 month old twins) started to fuss. I’m so glad we went.
The house is beautiful. You will probably have a nice and interesting tour, the guides are amazing. They were very knowledgeable of the history of the house.
