This place is on private property. Listing for informational purposes only. Please do not visit without express permission from the land owner. Tennessee State Prison is a former correctional facility located near downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Opened in 1898, the prison has been closed since 1992.[1] It has been the location for the films Nashville, Marie, Ernest Goes to Jail, Against the Wall, The Green Mile, The Last Castle,] two of Eric Church's music videos "Lightning" and "Homeboy", and Pillar's "Bring Me Down" music video. Most recently VH1's Celebrity Paranormal Project filmed there for the third episode of the series (titled "The Warden") as well as the last episode of the first season (titled "Dead Man Walking"). The prison was referred to as "The Walls Maximum Security Prison" in both episodes to protect the location's privacy.
The guards were not a problem for us we fought them off with our bare hands. Someone would say the guards were never seen again.
I live in Nashville and you actually can't get to this place anymore, they have armed guards blocking off the entrance
Guard was super nice and we learned to read the reviews before trying to visit places hahaha.
The guards turn you around immediately and will not even let you take a picture without filling out a contract in pain money like your movie producer something.
Looks like Disneyland.
I've been on several different video shoots on this location. The inside is in horrible disrepair. Its really unsafe now to go in.
