Reviews
We stayed on a Saturday night in August and it was pretty busy but there were still spots left. It was pretty well-lit and we felt safe there. The bathrooms were meh but they got the job done.
Parked overnight, no one bothered me, was noisy with road noise and people coming and going. Pretty view to wake up to right on the river.
Arrived around 7pm and there was plenty of spaces however lots of campers showed up by nighttime. There are signs all over about “no overnight camping” and “8hr parking only” but we never got a knock. Very nice temps in July and road noise is minimal at night.
I pulled in here around 10 Pm on a Tuesday night. Very quite. A few cars and SUV. I was the only RV. Great place to stay if you need a last minute place as I did.
Nice rest stop
When you are surrounded by "no overnight parking" signs and it is really late in the day, this was a blessing to find! Nice view and a restroom!
Just stopped to check it out since I saw it on Campendium.....
Everything the other reviews say.
We tried hard to find a spot to camp or dry camp between Cannon Beach and Astoria. Campgrounds were full, KOA was $80 and we were tired. Found these reviews and decided to try. So grateful for this stop. The State of Washington made every effort to provide a meaningful stop with homage paid to Lewis and Clark. 24 hour restrooms and a gorgeous view. There were some folks parked who gave us an uneasy feeling but we kept to ourselves and enjoyed the view, the dog area and the ability to sleep easy. Thank you!
Right on the water with great views. Just 5 miles from Astoria. Pet area and restrooms. Great phone service (Sprint). Only downside is it’s right on highway 401 which was a little noisy, but did not disrupt sleep
This was one of the loudest places I’ve slept. Between the highway just feet away and the people yelling outside at 11pm and 6am, I didn’t get the greatest night sleep of my life and didn’t feel 100% safe. The lot is also pretty small so there’s a chance of it being full on a busier night. But, still very grateful for a pit stop between Olympic NP and the Oregon beaches, so it did it’s job! Cell service was fine - 3.87 up/ 1.95 down on Verizon
