Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on July 01, 2022This is a big park of permanent manufactured homes (small ones), and trailers and fifth-wheels who come to escape the heat of Phoenix. We were roasted in April--95 degrees all the way from Palm Springs to Phoenix--drove like banshees to get out of the heat. Elevation at Munds Park is 6600' and in late April the trees were just starting to get their leaves. But the cool air (around 75) was a great relief; the pool will open soon. The park has a few sites for travelers, and the sites are fairly small, but have all you need. It's another $6 for full hook-ups--ours was just water and electric. Couldn't find the gate that is supposed to be right from the campground into Coconino National Forest for hiking, but there is a fitness center on the premises, and a golf course right nearby. Flagstaff is 25 minutes away, and Sedona about the same. Some dull highway noise. Looking online, the RV parks in Flagstaff don't sound very clean or kept up, so we opted to stay here for quite a few nights. Nice staff, a small store; we didn't have reservation. Gorgeous clean bathrooms with lots of hot water. This is a classy place.

Stayed a week. Staff was friendly. Has a general store and a nice pool. Has a bar and restaurant right on premises. Wifi was excellent I didn’t even need to use my hotspot. Can hear some highway 17 noise. They have a lot of cute tiny homes right next to RV park. Really nice tiny home community. Lots of hiking nearby. I would stay again.

We stayed here one night as a replacement for our National forest reservation that was canceled due to wildfires. We stayed here in mid May and the pool was not open even though it was 80:degrees. Park has all the usual amenities and was clean. Our site was close to the interstate so there was road noise.

We've stayed here many times over a decade or more. The pros: Lots of tress for shade, spacious sites, clean facilities. The cons: Facilities are for the most part clean such as the pool area and bathrooms, however they don't check sites in between those coming and going. It would be nice if they would wipe down the picnic tables and benches as well as pick up the area. Some people leave trash, beer cans, etc.. behind that the next person coming in has to clean up. The wi-fi, cable, antennae connections don't give you anything! So if it's raining or too cold to be outside don't count on using your t.v. unless you have your own source. The noise from the freeway is loud and constant, especially for sites #7-#17 where you don't have a sewer connection only water and electric.
It would be great if a developer opened something up in northern Arizona, Sun Outdoors perhaps! There are so many people wanting to get out of the valley heat during the summer, but limited options for cooling off up north.

We are full-time RVers from AZ looking to find a cooler climate to spend the hot summer away from Phoenix area. We called Munds Park RV 3/13/23 & they told us they had a couple RV sites w/full hookups remaining for June-Aug in brand new phase opening this year. We had stayed at Munds Park for a month years ago in an older phase & enjoyed it for most part so decided to go for it! We did their required first step & paid $30 ($15 per RV occupant) to run background checks. Once cleared, we completed an application, provided copies of our drivers licenses, proof of insurance and 2+ pics of RV & paid/received receipt for $850 (1st month rent). Never heard anything more from them so 2 weeks prior to our 6/1/23 check-in (which aligned w/their policy to be able to cancel for a refund less a $250 fee), we called to check status & confirm reservation. They said everything in new phase set & good to go! On 5/31/23 we packed up RV to disconnect/pullout the next morning from the park we spent May at & head north to Munds Park for 3 months of cooler weather! BUT @ 5pm (only 19 hours before our scheduled & confirmed check-in), Munds Park calls us indicating we would not have sewer or water hookups as they are having issues w/County approving those connections in the new phase. We were told they didn’t know when those approvals would occur. Instead trucks would come thru a couple times/week to fill RV water tanks and pump out waste tanks. Problem is, we paid for convenience of full hookups & no discount for lack of sewer/water connections would be given. Our issue wasn’t so much the delay in getting approval (as we know how dealing w/govt agencies can be) but rather that Munds Park never made an earlier courtesy call to alert us of the situation nor did they even mention it when we called 2 weeks prior; Instead they gave us less than a 24-hour notice! Of course at this late date everything in Flagstaff area is booked solid w/waiting lists (which they, of course, knew & were simply counting on folks feeling stuck/desperate which is probably why they waited last minute to notify us). It’s just inconsiderate and sneaky on their part! We decided to go ahead & they did issue a full refund except the $30 in credit report fees. We drove by the park a couple times on 6/5 and from I17 the new phase is very close to the interstate, no trees/shade & doesn’t look complete & inviting (especially for a 3-month stay)… so glad we cancelled! Should you decide to book a reservation here, just beware and ask what phase you’ll be in, confirm hookups and make sure you’re getting what you’re paying for!!!
Lots of amenities and close to the forest and Flagstaff. Very busy on the weekends with all the people from Phoenix driving up to escape the heat. Not too many overnight sites. Most of the park is either park models or seasonal sites. Lots of RZR’s and ATV’s cruising around the park on the weekends, but quieter during the week. Laundry rooms are clean. Office has a small store. It is close to I-17 so you also get a lot of road noise.

After a few wrong turns, thanks to google maps, we stopped and asked for directions. Paid $48 for 1 night. Not bad, but no views. BIG fenced area for dogs. Nice, clean and well maintained place.

July 14, 2019: Heading from Tucson to Colorado; nationwide heatwave; was gonna stay in Cottonwood to make for a short driving day, but called ahead and they had a same day opening, so decided to keep going and add some elevation to our trip (about 6460' elevation here). Still it was 85 when we arrived, but much cooler than So. AZ. Tall trees around each site brings nice shade. Park is just West of I-17. Fairly easy to get into. Many Class A and larger 5th wheels here. Site 8 is a pull thru site with water and electric. $42 per night includes tax. Dump station will be $10 for us when we leave. Pool, jacuzzi, laundry room nearby. A small amount of freeway noise; site 17/18 closest to freeway. Nice little community with many full time/seasonal trailers; daily activities. Perfect for us when Tucson is 103 at 6:30pm!

Nice place, easy in and out, nice amenities and very quiet, only downside is dog walking area is a little far to go and dogs didn’t make it there but no big deal just picked up after them. I would definitely recommend to anyone and stay here again
