“Eastern Foothills of the Manzano Mountains!”
Set in the eastern foothills of the Manzano Mountains, trails wind through a forest of ponderosa pines. The Manzano Mountains are a part of the same geological feature that formed the Sandia Mountains to the north, but the Manzano Mountains are more remote and less developed. Hiking a trail is one of the best ways to get to know a park, and 22 of our 35 parks have established trail systems. Whether you are interested in an easy and quiet nature hike or if you want a more adventurous experience, hit the trail in a State Park.
