“sleep in the Appalachian Mtns”
Our inn is located in the Appalachian Mountains and town of Mountain City, TN, just north of Boone/Blowing Rock, NC--a unique rural mountain and valley area easily reachable from most parts of the Southeast. Start your day with a hearty breakfast (included). The area's natural beauty is the inn's best amenity. The Wagner-Rambo house was built in primarily rural Johnson County, TN, in 1889, Today it iis a small mid-century Tennessee town surrounded by mountain ranges, thousands of acres of Cherokee National Forest and scenic overlooks connected by barely traveled rural lanes. It's just a short drive from pristine Watauga Lake, a wide variety of hiking trails, bicycling trails (Appalachian Trail and Virginia Creeper Trail), horseback riding and auto touring. In winter go skiing, snow boarding or tubing. Shopping, museums, wineries and more restaurants are not far away. Some shops are located "downtown" Mountain City, a five minute walk away.
This bed and breakfast is allegedly haunted: http://www.hauntedrooms.com/prospect-hill-bed-and-breakfast-inn-mountain-city-tennessee
Sorry folks, no ghosts or other haunting here unless they brought some with them when they bought the house and converted it to a B&B . We played in the house and outbuildings when we were kids and this was a private residence.
PERFECT PLACE FOR A SMALLER DESTINATION WEDDINGS, ELOPEMENTS
The Wagner House has mountain views, a delightful garden and a party room the inn built just for weddings. The innkeepers make it their business to make weddings there lovely and fun. The inn owns tables, chairs, linens, etc.--all used free at weddings. I think the photos on the website show how lovely and personal a marriage ceremony and party can be. And the pricing is very good, too http://www.prospect-hill.com/weddings/prices/
PS The ghosts are never any problem. They, and the inn's cat, don't come out for weddings!
