I camped in the bluegill section of the campground. Plenty of spots and some are under trees providing great shade. (Spot 472 is where I stayed and is one of those spots). There are plenty vault-style toilets nearby and water spigots if you need to top off on potable water or to clean. Had a few mosquitos but with standard spray, didn’t have any issues at all. Make sure your food is put away cause little field mice or birds will take advantage. Even if they the food is in the wrapping. (Our hotdog and burger buns were pillaged)
Rate for the waterfront spot was $59/night and includes 1 vehicle. Most spots can accommodate up to 2 vehicles but to have that second vehicle parked there overnight as well is $25/night. They ended up only charging us the “overflow” parking rate at $15/night but didn’t have any issues and weren’t asked to move the extra car or anything.
Check-in is between 12-2pm but 2pm is the standard. Checkout is 12pm. Quiet time starts at 10pm. There was no swimming allowed when I went but I’m not sure if that’s a normal thing or if it’s just a COVID-19 measure. Boats, kayaks, and many other recreational activities or items are available for rent. Prices are on their site and in the map/guide they give you at check-in. Also, it seemed like only Verizon was available as far as cell signal.

Lake level is down but that offers great shore spots to fish, sun, read.
As of Jan 2021, AT&T cellular is available 5 bars!
Fishing is great, catching not so much.
We’ve been coming here 15+ years and will continue.

Park is clean, dirt roads make it dusty, sites are mostly dirt and not level, no landscaping. The shower was decent and clean. I’m sorry but what your getting for full hook-ups at $85.00 this is not that park. The best thing is the camp host Bill, walked the area and personally introduced himself to each campsite and instead of blurting a bunch of rules he asked everyone if they needed anything he was there to help, now that’s a real welcome host!

Great stay. Very large campground with lots of dry camp spots. I stayed in Lakeside dry camp site 482 and had a challenge getting level. But views were great! My only complaint is all of the generators running into the late evening (allowed between 8am-10pm). I think generators (especially the noisy ones) should be allowed to run 9am to 5pm so there’s can enjoy the peace and quiet up here in the mountains.
Other than that, I definitely come back and probably spend more time here. Great getaway from the big city but nearby Idywild has two pretty good grocery stores.
