Unless your goal is to stay in Montrose there are cheaper and prettier campgrounds south towards Ouray. The sites are clean and level but you’ll probably only be paying for hookups as most sites are not on the river and do not have fire pits. My recommendation is stay a few miles south at the lake at Ridgway State Park.

We stayed for a Sunday night when passing through Montrose. The campground hosts were super nice and friendly (I talked to Gale & Tigger). We were a few minutes late to check in and they didn't mind at all. The tent sites are right on the Uncompahgre River. It was late July/early August 2020, so the river was fairly low and I would imagine that the tenting sites flood in the spring. But there was nice grass, picnic tables and very flat. Their new shower house is great. It has laundry machines that you can use coins or an app on your phone to operate. And the Wifi was plenty fast for me to work remotely on Monday morning. It is close to 550 and we could hear the road when the wind was blowing that direction, but the river is loud too so you barely notice the highway noise. It very convenient to be so close to town too. I seriously considered staying a few more nights because it was so nice! 10/10 would recommend

Had a wonderful time and served as a great base camp for exploring the south rim of Black Canyon national Park.
Would definitely stay here again.
One thing I would change ... put some shelves in the showers for all your stuff you need for the shower.

The photos posted when I looked up this RV park on Campendium up do not do it justice. It is beautiful! Fruit trees, lovely sitting areas and it is right on the Uncompahgre River. The park is under new management and they have done a wonderful job with the park. When you arrive to register, someone escorts you to your site and will help you back in (we are new at this so I very relieved to have help because we were backing up to the river!) Our spot was right next to the dog park, yay! They will refill your propane and deliver goods from the store. The restroom/shower facilities are brand new and spotless. My only complaint about them is that there are only a few hooks to put your belongings for several showers, no benches or tables. There are several restroom stalls. There is a great spot to get into the river just past the fence line. The park is 5 minutes from large stores and several restaurants, maybe 7-10 minutes to downtown Montrose but you feel like you are secluded. 30 minutes from the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. We will definitely stay here again.

This park has had several upgrades, with newer laundry facilities and cleanup throughout the park. It is now a nice, clean, updated park with the best wifi we have experienced in a long time!
The back-in site we had was a wide, shaded, gravel site, with a picnic table. The whole park is gravel, but smooth to walk.
The Uncompahgre River is next to the park, and they have taken the time to set up benches and fire pits to enjoy the water. There is also a nice dog park in the center of the park, easy to get to from any of the sites. Tent sites are on grass, right by the river, with picnic tables and fire pits. There is also a community area, with chairs and a large fire pit for hanging out with friends and other Rvers.

We spent six days here in September and loved the fall colors and views of the river. The staff are friendly and the customer service was incredible! We had a few packages delivered during our stay and the staff reached out each time by phone or stopping by our site to deliver the packages in person.
The river views are so beautiful, especially in the fall. We even got to see some deer and owls on property. Even though this is a quiet park it is very close to town which is an added benefit. The website says they have a 10-year or newer rule but if your rig looks newer they are willing to make exceptions (they suggest sending pics before you arrive). Our rig is 11 years old and we had no problems. We look forward to staying here again in the future.
We gave this review 4 stars instead of 5 only because we prefer larger sites with paved pads and these are closer together on gravel.

We needed a stop between disperse camping locations to get some laundry done, restock so supplies, and reconnect to the internet. Riverbend was perfect. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. The site we super clean and ours backed right up to the river. The laundry was super clean with new equipment. The dog park was perfect for our chocolate lab.
We paid the upgraded price for the riverside access and we are glad we did.
We had a great stay with all of Montrose just minutes away.
The Wifi was absolutely the best I have ever used in an RV park. Super fast speeds.

We stopped here for a few nights so we could drive to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. We were met at the entrance by a friendly gentleman that guided us to our site and gave us some great information about the park and surrounding area. This park is gated and well maintained with a beautiful lake just outside the gate. The only drawback to our site (2) was the gate...it is rather loud when it opens and closes and site 2 is right beside it. This means you hear EVERY vehicle that comes and goes all day and night! Regardless, it was a great place to stop for a few days and we would definitely stay here again!
