This is an EPIC campsite!. There is enough room here for 4 large rigs comfortably spaced out. This is the gravel parking lot of an old Ski Lift. The ski lift equipment is long gone with just one small building left but can tell buy clearing in the trees up the mountain. The parking lot is slightly sloping, but we leveled out easily. It is about a 1mile drive UP the smooth gravel rd to the site. There were two water drainage dips on the rd, but our 37ft class A had no issues with those. There is a great hiking trail that leads from the campsite, every once in awhile hikers would park their cars for a few hrs. Very quiet and peaceful up here. You can see for miles and miles. It can be windy up there.

...and that's about it. I suppose it's quiet, but personally, I expect better from dispersed camping: isolation, views, etc. This place has none of that.

It is a parking lot, but you are 5 minutes from a town in a mountain and can't hear a thing besides nature. It is good for a quick setup, we were in transit, and needed a spot to sleep for the night, work perfectly for my wife and 4-year-old son. Easy access, I was at the max weight in my Tacoma and didn't even need 4 wheel drive with a 6x10 teardrop camper. We were surprised by the forest service firefighters driving up with 3 F-350s around 8am doing their weekly hike. There are a couple of trailheads at the top and we had a guy in a dirt bike show up for some trail running after the firefighters. We like to talk with people so it wasn't that big of a deal. We had a great stay. The views are there you just have to walk up the side of the mountain or camp somewhere else along the road. Once you turn off North Creek road you camp anywhere within 150 feet of the center of the road.

A great, large, level site at the bottom of an old ski run. The road up is pretty bad in general so my suggestion would be to not attempt it without a high-clearance vehicle and plenty under the hood, especially if you're towing anything. No services so pack in/pack out. There was a big fire ring in place but with a statewide burn bad in effect I didn't use it.
The ski run is great for wildlife viewing. Saw many deer and no fewer than 30 wild turkeys. Sneaky woods cows came down around sunset to drink from the seep by the bush too.
Once sunset started suggesting itself in the sky a steady parade of hunters in pickup trucks made their way up the road. I'm a hunter myself but when they asked me if I'd seen any I lied like a rug, man. A big open manmade space like that is too much like a carnival shooting gallery for my own tastes, and nobody wants to sleep next to a gut pile anyway.
ALL THAT SAID...it's a great free site near a good-sized town with fair to excellent cell coverage. I'd definitely stay here again.
