“Haven for nature lovers, with & without disabilities”
Located at 300 Katon Road in Montesano, Washington is an outdoor haven for nature lovers, with and without disabilities. At this great location, just minutes from the highway, you can find access to one of the very few "Handicapped Accessible" recreation area's in the US. Friends Landing is located along the Chehalis River with a 32 acre man made lake with handicapped access to hiking, fishing, camping and bird watching. The Lake has a 1.7 mile paved trail that circles it where one may bike, rollerblade, walk or roll a wheelchair and enjoy the serenity of nature, up close and personal! There is a large variety of wildlife to observe including birds, eagles, deer, beavers and much more, plus the opportunity for some great nature photography. There is fishing off river, and lake fishing that includes fishing shacks bordering the river as well as floating pier access, a concrete handicap accessible boat launch plus a floating pier access into the river. In the river there is sturgeon fishing year round, and when the salmon are running there is great salmon fishing either from the pier or in your boat and in the lake there is seasonal fishing. On site restrooms, and showers are available.

Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on July 31, 2022This is a beautiful, quiet park with huge spots! Nice picnic tables and fire pits! Nice, new kids play area. There is a paved trail that goes around the lake that is beautiful! The lake has access for fishing (no swimming). The other side of the park is the Chehalis River, also with boat launch and fishing docks! Cell signal was not great-we have a booster so that helped. Satellite for TV worked great! The nice park host works very hard to keep the park nice! We would definitely recommend!

Very clean site but spots are a bit tight. I think it’s kind of asinine to have to run your Visa card to dump at their station after we just dropped 50 bucks to stay here for a night. “Tip” have your hose and everything at the ready before you swipe your card to dump. You don’t get much of a time window. Other than that it was a great experience

A very peaceful camp located right on the lake with a river on the other side and offers nice walking and biking trail including a playground for the kids. Sites are affordable, paved and well-maintained with restrooms, picnic areas and a boat ramp on site.
