Housed in a restored 1886 jail built from locally quarried stone, the museum features displays of historical items from Wheeler County, the oldest county government and town in the Texas Panhandle. Located just off Hwy 152, 33 miles east of Pampa, TX or 12 miles west of Wheeler, TX. Annual events include the Old Mobeetie Music Festival the last weekend in July and the Old Settler's Reunion and BBQ over Labor Day weekend Entrance to the museum is free. We do accept and appreciate all donations.
