Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on October 13, 2021Small number of sites and most are well distanced, but the traffic on 128 was quite incongruous to the beautiful and otherwise peaceful location. Next time we might opt to drive the 1.5 miles down a dirt road to lower onion campground. At least it will be off the highway.

We were happy to find a spot at Hittle Bottom when everything closer to Moab was full in early April. This turned out to be a great campground -- clean, safe, water access, terrific hiking loop just across the street, and views in every direction. The hosts in spring 2021 were friendly and attentive. There is highway noise (almost all the campgrounds north of Moab are close to the highway) but there's not much traffic after dark and we weren't bothered by it. There is a Dumpster. No water, no dump. Very weak Verizon signal that worked occasionally. The campground filled up every night we were there. Sites for RVs and tents, a few will fit big rigs.

We ended up at Hittle Bottom after finding the other campgrounds closer to town were all full. We’re glad we stayed here though! There are only about 2-3 sites suitable for an rv/tt/5th wheel up to I’d say 30’ (13-15). The incline to back into #14 is fairly steep but if you can get in it’s the largest spot. We ended up in 13 and had a wonderful stay! Pretty much right off the highway but it wasn’t too busy, and quieted down after dark. Sites are about 40’-50’ apart and was the most spacious close to Moab. Picnic table and fire ring at spots, a boat ramp to the river, and a beautiful 3 mile hike across the road! We’ll definitely come back!!

We couldn't find anything closer to Moab and I'm glad we didn't. This is a very basic campground and the sites are not all suitable for RV's and trailers. We had site 14 ( I think) and it was fine for us. But the setting of the CG is just beautiful, surrounded with red rock mesas and the Colorado River. The star gazing is spectacular! The drive to Moab is beautiful, but took us about 45 minutes to get to US Rt.191. We paid the senior rate and stayed here in September 2023. First come, first served so sites might be gone later in the evening. The road noise was the only negative because the campsites are very close to Rt. 128.
