Upper Big Bend Campground

First come first serve, people check out in the morning. Great camping. Right on the river. Checkin with camp host if you have any issues. Overflow is across the street.

Super fun basic camping. Most of the campgrounds on this road are on or along the river. Can’t really go wrong and they’re all the same. Sites are close to river entry. Beautiful views and amazing night sky’s. Prepare for immensely dark skies as Arches it’s a Dark Sky Park.
Also great for biking, bring or rent bikes guys it’s awesome, you can bike up and down the river and turn into arches. And bring floaties, and rope, and booze. You know where I’m going with this.

This was a great campground next to the Colorado River and only 6 miles from Moab. We were there the first part of October. There was only 8 spots, but several campgrounds close by. The campground was full by 2 pm each day

There was one vault toilet, and you had to take your garbage to Big Bend Campground which was really close. There is road noise not to much at night.

We had a cell boaster so were able to get 3g 2 bars.

Lucked out on a Saturday 330. Someone was just checking out(was too be noon but I guess no checks). River view, level site but the outhouse smell was disgusting. Had to keep rv windows closed. Host seemed knowledgeable about area. About 12 minutes to moab turnoff. I see other blm closer to town had picnic tables.

We stayed here 2 wonderful nights in May 2023 in a travel trailer. It's "boon docking" at it's best!! This specific campground has only 8 sites right on the Colorado River across from that beautiful Moab red rock. I think each site does have a picnic table & fire pit. Our site was very clean & well maintained. The 1 vault toilet did not stink at all! There is no dumpster so you have to take trash to the next door campground (no problem whatsoever). The camp host stays at the next door campground but checks on things here regularly. Of course, you are right on the highway, but that did not bother us at all and late at night traffic diminishes to almost nothing. Get here as early as possible as it fills up fast & it's first come, first serve. We will long remember pleasant evenings enjoying the spectacular red rock cliffs across the river.

We stayed in spot #2 and had our own private live oak grove with our picnic table in the middle of it. We had a trail down to the river but would walk across the campground to the sandy beach by the day use section. The bathrooms (pit toilet) were SO clean and stocked with TP!!

Upper Big Bend Campground is located next to Big Bend campground. The campsites are available on a first come/first serve basis. Reservations are accepted only for group campsites. Call 435-259-2100 for reservations. All BLM campgrounds have picnic tables, vault toilets, grills, graveled roads and trash receptacles. Camping at all sites is limited to 14 days. BLM camping areas have open-air vault toilets and metal fire rings. Dumpsters are available for camper use with the recreation area. BLM RV sites have no hookups.Elevation 4000 ft. 8 campsites on the banks of the Colorado River. There is a white sand beach and picnic area here.
