“A vacation rental ranch in Moab”
Make our upscale desert oasis your relaxing escape when visiting Moab and the surrounding wilderness in SE Utah. Just moments from Arches and Canyonlands! The Ranch is the oldest continuous settlement in Moab. Before settlers the copious springs watered the crops of ancestral Fremont Culture First Americans. Later, the Elk Mountain Band of the Ute Nation lived here. In the very early 1800’s, the Spanish Trail, linking Santa Fe to California, passed through the site. In the 1880’s, Moab’s first permanent non-native settler, William Grandstaff, built stone cabins here. In the 1890’s, a larger brick home, our National Historic Register Ranch House, was constructed of locally fired brick by Moab’s Taylor family. Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch camped here after robbing the San Miguel Bank in Colorado. Robert and Ethel Kennedy honeymooned in the Ranch House. Moab locals can share tales of love and loss – and rumors of hauntings – connected with the old Ranch. Now it’s your turn! We have preserved the historic buildings, nurtured the grove of cottonwood trees, and have renewed the Ranch’s commitment to permaculture and sustainability.
