The campground here was built on a hillside and I don't think they made any attempt to level any of them. They are also all different sizes: all are about 30 feet wide, but depth can vary from 20 to 60 feet. We found several that were level enough for our 29' Class A, but we would not have been able to reach the electric post at the back of the site without multiple cords! We were not able to get fully level at the site we ended up in and, in fact, haven't even seen a tent that was able to get a level spot. So snap a picture of the available sites so you can refer to it while making a reconnaissance loop.
Having said that, it's a pretty campground and is nicely maintained. There are some 50-amp sites (cost $2 more/night) but most are 30. Water (for RV fill) is only available at the dump station, although spigots are available at several locations. There is a central bath house with showers, an additional pit toilet on each loop, fire rings and picnic tables. There is a boat ramp, canoe rental, volleyball and basketball courts and even a horseshoe pit. Fairly close to grocery shopping, laundry, etc.

I think Jeneric Ramblings' review summed this park up pretty well. We had a similar experience here. The only thing I would add is that if you're a non-resident of MI, you'll have to buy a state parks pass for each vehicle, which added $64 to our overall cost to stay.

Unlevel site as many are at this campground. Large site, but I had to wait for an hour while Ranger forced someone to move a boat trailer. Newest bathroom/ bathhouse I saw at several Michigan State Park campgrounds. Swim area is swampy.

Sites are not level. Matter of fact they say level but so far out of level. I spent $100 in wood to level our trailer. Camp sites were a mess garbage everywhere. Apparently the lake is contaminated, don't eat the fish.

We only overnighted here but did have a several hours to hang out and see what the place has to offer. Very clean bathrooms. Campground was clean as well. So many things to do for families. Canoe rental, outdoor game equipment, fishing hiking and so on. Staff was friendly and sites were large. True that they are very sloped. Our 36 ft 5th wheel had a 3-4 ft drop from front to back and wheels off the ground on one side. Worked for a night. I did notice the random size and composition of the sites: some asphalt, some grass, some gravel. As at all MI state parks, BEST fire rings (inner and outer ring separated by concrete so outside is not hot) and dump stations. Definitely you want to see the spots or call to discuss spot appropriate for your rig. Enter Proud Lake Campground on GPS. DO NOT follow Apple Maps to Proud Lake Recreation Area as that takes you to the headquarters

One of the best state parks we have camped. The shower house is new and very clean. Absolutely the best setup I have experienced at a state park. The sites are very good however there are some sites that are sloped uphill that could be a challenge to level. However site 30 has a berry tree directly over the site. It drops purple berries that are dirty and stain.

I stayed at the end of May after Memorial Day. Nearly empty. I was visiting my sister in Waterford. Still half hour away but closer that anywhere else. Prices were good. Lots of nice shade in several spots. Especially 24 and on either side.
