All back-in sites, water is available at several sites around park to fill your tanks. Dump station on the way out of the park. We’ve stayed here twice, will stay again in hot weather when we need electric (too hot for boon docking!)

We stayed here in late October 2018 and had a very pleasurable experience. The plentiful 30amp sites have lots of room between them and are well-kept. Registration occurred with the friendly camp hosts, where you can buy firewood as well. The park is actually quite large and has a historic fort, visitor center, and nice biking and hiking trails. There is no additional charge for any of these amenities. It's very close to downtown metropolis with groceries and other necessities. The campsite has a dump station and multiple sources of potable water. The Mexican place together scores the street is cheap and delicious! I would most definitely stay here again if passing through the area.

I'll admit it; I like all the comforts when I camp. Fort Massac had electricity connections at each camp site ONLY. There are water faucets for use for the campers scattered throughout the RV park, approximately every sixth site. We filled our water tank before getting situated in our site. There is one sewer dump near the entrance to the Park.
I used the camp showers and toilets, and these are kept in good order. There is also a pair of outhouses on the grounds, which again, are kept as clean as an outhouse can be.
The campground is well-maintained, and frequently monitored by park personnel. Most sites were reserved when I arrived, and the sites are marked with the name of the occupant. There was no need to check-in with an attendant.
Incidentally, even though the Park has a rule that the park closes at 10 p.m., the park attendant told me that the only time the Park closes is when high water floods out the campground.

We rolled in just before sunset, without reservations, on a Wednesday evening in December. While one of us dumped, the park host set the other up with a 50A site (of our choosing).
The sites were all easily accessible, and decently level for our big rig. The park was mostly empty.
Each site has either 30A or 50A. No water or sewer, but the dump station offers potable water and there are also spigots dotting the park amongst the campsites.
A separate camping area exists for tents that provides a bit of space away from the big rigs (no tents were there during our stay).
The park was quiet, save for the occasional, erratic BOOMS of barges on the river, which isn't far from the camping area.
There are trails here, but they were flooded during our stay. A few playgrounds, a boat launch, and fishing areas are all within the park. Just a few miles away, town offers a cute bakery, a superman statue, a few wonky gift shops, and some antique shops. There is also a casino (where you can park overnight for free if you're just looking for a single night - big rig accessible too).

This site is a beautiful park! Full of multiple playgrounds for the kids, a disc golf course, bathrooms, showers ( currently under construction), fire pits. Everything you really need. Plus it was super affordable for my rent site, $6! There’s gas stations & a supermarket less than a mile away. Great place to stay in the home of Superman! Do note this isn’t a scenic campground. Not much to look at. Just a place to stay with some rad activities.

We saw a family of nursing Whitetails as we were looking for the perfect spot. Our host was kind and conversational in the way you look for when traveling. The true gem of this area is the Mexican restaurant across the street, Casa Tapatia. Authentic Mexican food in the southern tip of Illinois sounds crazy, but we found ourselves in just that place. It would be a disservice to not go in for margaritas and tacos. The chips and salsa are a surprisingly delicious open to what the rest of the meal will taste like. 10/10

Nice close to town. Lots of spots open but we did stay on Dec 23rd.
Bathroom was under construction tho so we couldn’t use.
Easy to find and perfect for a quick stay on the way to FL.
The occasional trains and barges weren’t bothersome to us in our camper.

Just a quick 1 night stay. Didn’t even unhook. Easy to find and close to the Ohio river. Took a walk down to the banks after dinner. Seems like a nice campground, gravel sites with power.
