Despite this park's wonderful location (just outside of Mendocino and across the street from a dog-friendly beach), it disappoints in its lack of originality. The RV spots are the typical parking-lot structure where your door is likely to open right into your neighbors. We stayed out of desperation (the two WA State Campgrounds we looked at were not much better) and for the laundry facilities. The laundry room was dirty, the machines in poor shape. All in all, stop in if you have to, and sometimes you just have to get off the road.

I thought this park had more space than some others (although I can tell some other sites do not) and the grounds are well maintained. The key for us was close access to surfing and mountain bike trails.
The laundry room was pretty bad. It seemed clean enough but I spent over $6 trying to dry 3 loads and my clothes never got better than damp. I did speak with the manager and she refunded me and told me she would have someone look into it.
Also they have rules posted everywhere which is a pet peeve of mine but they actually seemed pretty laid back. I think the rules are probably more for the summer crowds.
I would stay here again.
Also this is the kind of place where you think all your stuff would be pretty safe but someone had some items stolen the night before we arrived.
We were able to get a cell signal but only by using our booster.

The RV park itself is cramped and a little run down. Our 2 night stay was uneventful but wish we had more elbow room and a view for $50/night with full hook ups.
The laundry room has improved compared to other people's experiences. I did a load with no problem. The staff is friendly and helpful and it was convenient being able to purchase propane and other supplies on site.
Wifi signal is weak. Unless you have Verizon you will likely get zero cell service. Wasn't sure whether to answer 'yes' or 'no' to the "would you stay here again" question. For the price I thought there could be a good number of improvements made. Biggest draw is the beach cove. It was nice to be able to walk the dogs there. Then again if you can dry camp, there are a number of nice free spots along hwy 1 with stellar views. Will likely do that next time than spend the money at Caspar Beach.

This is the closest place to stay near Mendocino with internet, because they offer great WiFi. There is virtually no cell service in the area and only a couple camping options, so Casper is the best option. Full hookups and laundry.
Please note: I reported Verizon and AT&T only because of the WiFi, there is actually no coverage.

This is conveniently between fort Bragg and Mendocino and near the state parks and wine valley. There is also a nice cove directly across the street that can be a great surfing location if there are waves.
The park itself is crowded- they could not fit one more spot in there if they tried. Neighbors are close and tow vehicles don’t fit in the spaces and are therefore all over the roads and random corners of the park.
We were initially assigned spot 50 but even at only 23 feet we did not fit- staff was nice and accommodating though and moved us no problem.
The bathrooms were actually very nice but you had to use quarters to shower- 1.5 minutes per quarter
We were able to pick up some AT&T and some Verizon with our booster but it was very inconsistent. The park WiFi worked but was also inconsistent with speeds. It’s fine for sending messages and surfing the web, but I wouldn’t count on it for working. Signal was much better in Fort Bragg

We were in vacation mode when we stayed here, so maybe that is why the nightly rate didn't bother us as much...but the grounds are quite and the location is amazing. Caspar Beach is probably one of my favorite beaches. Some rocks for tide pooling and a pretty well sheltered (think less wind and a bit warmer) beach with small and less intimidating waves for the kiddos. The beach is literally across the street. The campground has a store, showers, bathrooms, playground, and some some pull through sites. The non-pull through sites offer a bit more space and privacy though. They had propane refill and laundry facilities, but both were broken when we were there. We also were able to connect and use their free wifi, which was awesome. We had zero cell signal.

We had to attempt squeezing our trailer into a perpendicular 14-foot wide space with vehicles close to the opposite side of the driveway. We arrived about 3pm and it was already super tightly filled. We were not able to extend our awning because of our neighbors being so close and we did not have room for our two camp chairs. Other sites were better so get there prior to check-in.

The campground is very nice. It was January so it was very quiet and we had the advantage of not having anyone next to us. If there was, they would have been very close, as the sites are close together. There are beautiful trees all around though and the setting and surroundings are really quite nice. Site 17 is at the end nearest to the entrance and has its own little grassy area. If it’s available, I strongly recommend it. There is also a private “garden view” site right near the office and main building that is on its own and pretty isolated. If it’s available, you’d definitely be happy with that site. The beach is right across the road, easily within walking distance. There’s lots of sea glass to be found along the beach. They have a nice little store on site with beer, wine, firewood and plenty of other supplies on hand. They also have a small arcade and billiards room connected to the office. Cell signal is pretty weak in this area so you’ll need a booster. They do have WiFi but it isn’t streaming strength.

The sites were muddy but we were here in February. A little run down. Site was uneven. No dog run and no dog parks anywhere in the local area. Cable reception was fuzzy and we were here on Super Bowl Sunday. The location is really great. The campground is in a cove so even though it was very windy on the beach the site was fairly calm. Fort Bragg and Mendocino only minutes away.
