“Clothier to the King!”
Think of Memphis, Tennessee and you think of the blues. Think of Beale Street and you have to think of Lansky Bros - the store that permanently changed how America dresses. Lansky Brothers started as an army surplus store but as soldiers returned from World War II, the store was changed to accommodate customers interested in a one-of- a- kind look. The original Lansky store at 126 Beale became the fashion headquarters to musicians and the clothes savvy, including B.B. King, Isaac Hayes, David Porter, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Rufus Thomas. It did not take long for Lansky's to build a repertoire with Gospel, Blues, Soul, and Rock 'n Roll musicians. However, it was Elvis Presley who helped establish Bernard Lansky's Clothier to the King title and allowed for global recognition. We are proud to have cultivated a legacy that three generations are now part of. We have been so fortunate to meet so many people from all over the world who come by to shop and visit with us.
